I wonder if you can use military one source to get a second opinion? Not sure, but that might be an option. Have you considered calling your congressman? This seems like the type of case they could help with. Again, I don't know, it just seems worthwhile to fight such an unfair course. Man, the...
Interestingly enough, a member who is ON my medboard spoke to my provider and said that this was "standard" testing, which is not what my PEBLO said. I've never heard of CDEs used for medboard requirements. The fact that my cc is talking regularly with one of the med board members, and the med...
I think you are right about that. And I'm wondering if I care at this point. I know I have PTSD, my docs have the diagnosis in my files, so if the new eval shows a different diagnosis I guess it doesn't really matter. I feel like its wrong that this can done, though.
I'm waiting for a review before my packet either gets pushed to PEB or I get "return to duty". I've been waiting for this for 3 weeks+ though. My PEBLO just keeps saying she'll give me an update when she has one.
The board is taking so long that it's causing considerable hardship for my family. My husband and I are dual mil, he PCSs this May, plus we are expecting our second child this Sept. At this point, since my service commitment is up, I would like to just separate so I can move with my husband and...
My command wants to refer me to an AF psychologist to do diagnostic testing to confirm PTSD diagnosis (which has been agreed on by my 2 psychologists, 1 psychiatrist, and the VA doc). I don't really want compensation, I just want to get out after all that's happened. IS there a downside to...
One of the best things you can do is get representation from the Area Defense (ADSC)...it helps to get your legal options from a military lawyer who knows your specific case. The AF, from my perspective, has been the worse offender of all the services for using MH to get rid of sexual assault...
Ceilingfan, I pretty much quoted what you said about "MEB should be determining if each individual claimed condition 'meets retention standards or not'. Not to my knowledge can the MEB return you to duty--that's fitness determination, which the PEB concludes...not the MEB" and PEBLO pretty much...
I haven't seen them...PEBLO said she'd give me all my records AFTER the MEB met to look at the records (is that normal?). But I'm pretty sure they are favorable just form the convo I had with the docs that eval'd me for VA.
Looking for a quick answer...
I am in the middle of the MEB process, saw VA for C&P appts, VA report is back with PEBLO. PEBLO just emailed me to say that my Doc is writing the addendum to my NARSUM and then the MEB will decide if I return to duty or go on to IPEB. Does this jive with other's...
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all the responses. I obviously have much learning to do and am very grateful for all the info I am getting from this forum!
The ONLY reason I did not participate in my CDE was because I have very good reason to believe it was not in accordance with regulations. If I find out I'm wrong, if I see that it is not being pursued for nefarious reasons, I will oblige. My doc and lawyer agreed with this call.
My bad, I am only now starting the PEB process, I have not gone through a IPEB (only the board that recommends the PEB process). Guess I have a lot to learn about this situation I am in. I went to the CDE, but refused to participate....I'm not sure what repercussions will come of that. It was...
