Hello all!

Just looking to see what timelines are looking like recently. I'm currently waiting on the VA, just was told that I was found unfit. Timeline so far is as follows:

February 25th: Referred for PEB
March 6th: Med board Brief
March 19th: IDES VA initial appointment
April 24th: Final VA appointment
June 25th: Case accepted for action by PEB
July 1st: Found unfit
July 9th: Called VA and they said it's in the decision phase and that I have a rater.

What do you think the timeline is from here on out?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Unfortunately not. Also have not heard back from my MSC providing any further info.

Also west coast, we are on the same timeline (like 10 days apart). Haven't heard anything either.
I've seen a lot of people on this forum call the VA and ask questions (I've lurked for a while; you guys helped me find out I was found UNFIT.) I wanted to ask if that actually helps the process at all, and what do I even say. Also, where/when do we find ratings when they close. Will it be on the VA website, will we get an email, or do we have to seek them out? Sorry if I'm uneducated.
Best of luck with your case! If I hear anything I'll let you know.

For most people, unfit is a good thing, since you will be separated/retired. When your VA claim closes on your VA app (it won't be there rn, it'll just appear overnight and say closed), you'll be a next step closer. Then, it'll be a long waiting game until you get your informal findings from your PEBLO.

You can kinda finesse once your VA app closes. Call them and get your letter via email. That way, they you can see your VA rating. You can find your DoD percentage by looking at what your referred condition(s) got rated.

I got a little sidetracked in answering your questions but here it is concise:
1. Unfit helps the process if your goal is to be separated/retired.
2. You will find your DoD/VA ratings once your case closes and you receive them from your PEBLO. However, you can find them a little bit earlier on the process above.
3. On the VA.gov website/App, you will see if your case gets closed. I don't believe they will send you an email.

I just got my VA and DoD rating last week. What I did to stay on top of things was literally call the VA once a week and say “Hi, i was wondering if you can help me get a status on if i’ve been given a proposed rating/what stage my claim is in.” It’d be good to also ask when the most recent status was last updated. My claim was in the decision phase with the VA for about 3 weeks.

At like 3 1/2 weeks i got a call from my PEBLO with my ratings, future timelines/what to expect moving forward. I discussed everything else with my lawyer.

Its been a week since i accepted my findings and now im waiting for my new EAS to populate

Thanks for the explanations! I called the VA and asked what stage my case was at, and they said it was "under final review and notification hasn't been sent yet".
I'm not solid on what that means but it sounds like almost done. Calling definitely help ease some anxiety that things are happening.
Will update as things progress.

I don't know if anyone is following, and this will probably be my last post. Thank you everyone, not just in this thread but everywhere on the site for all your wisdom.
I got my certificate of retirement today, and I will be on terminal asap. Official EAS was late November but I have a lot of leave accrued.
I wish you all the best of luck and a speedy process.
