TRIPLER TIMELINE

CONGRATS ON THE RATING!!!

Make sure you talk to your shirt and that your commander signs of on your Leave/PTDY paperwork for your PEBLO. Your orders wont generate until AFPC knows how much leave/PTDY you'll get. It took me a week before my I realized my command didn't send their response so my orders got delayed.

* UPDATE TO TIMELINE*

8 April - 1st appointment with PEBLO
11 April - 1st contact and appointment with MSC
27 April - 1st C&P exam
5 May - Last C&P exam
4 June - NARSUM available for review
24 June - Appointment with legal (we lost our counsel here at Tripler and had to be referred to Fort Carson for legal review)
24 June - NARSUM Signed and forwarded to PEB
11 July - PEB preliminary finding of "UNFIT"
29 Aug - claim close step 5/5 on VA app
9 Sep - Signed DA199 70% DoD / 100% VA placed on TDRL

Once the VA finally proposed ratings, things seemed to pick up some speed. I was told I would hit the transition list by Thursday and should have generic orders within 7 days. Here's to hoping I can start Terminal leave before the end of the month!
Congrats! I’m 2 weeks behind of yours, hopefully get updated soon. For “11 July - PEB preliminary finding of "UNFIT"” how and where did you find it?

I called the VA claim status line regularly for updates on my case

Still no update. Still in the decision phase. The waiting sucks. I have six kids and I'm trying to coordinate travel and starting school and such. As far as C&P exams, they don't get uploaded straight to genesis. They are however viewable through the Joint Longitudinal Viewer which usually only DoD healthcare professionals have access too. If you do a records request through Med Records down in the TAMC basement, I'm pretty sure you can get the pension exams because I've personally seen them there in JLV. I could be mistaken though. I'm also pretty sure that my PEBLO emailed to me before my packet was sent to the PEB. Maybe not....I've been blown up too many times.....my memory is shot
Are you starting school using your vr&e or gi bill?

My Peblo just said the VA is super backlogged, and it's about a 3 month turn around from when they assigned you a rater.

I'm using my GI Bill. For my already existing education and licensures, it was just a better fit for my personal situation to use GI Bill.
Really. Looks like i got some reading to do because I thought they were virtually the same except vr&e is for medical retirees.

On the Va app, it finally says closed step 5/5.
Below it in the What you’ve claimed section, it says “none noted”.

Did it say “none noted” for you?

vr&e requires justification. I am in the medical field and already have degrees and certifications. I wasn't plan on leaving the field, just leaving my specialty, therefore vr&e wasn't justified for my grad school program. If you plan on doing something totally different because of your disability and require further education then vr&e will definitely pay!

Okay, thank you dearly for that answer and example. It makes a lot more sense now! But another question is… how does “evidence” work for va claims

I received my first set of orders today. Just a tip if you find yourself waiting for RSO to contact you....As soon as you sign your 199, start hitting up your HRD or S-1 for your PDI report. Its the report generated on the transition list. It will have your NLT date on it. I submitted that with all three of my absence requests (TAA, ISAA, and Terminal) and my CO and BN CO were super understanding and signed my absence requests before I even had orders. Might not work for everyone but it did for me! You can't submit the NLT extension PAR without approved leave from an O5.

Have any of you called up to the IDES office at Tripler and felt like you weren’t getting told the truth about your case status to push until it was more convenient for them?

What was or final out date for you initial orders? 30 days? 60 days?

What was or final out date for you initial orders? 30 days? 60 days?
its 90 days from the day you hit the transition list. You can put in a par after all your leave forms are approved to extend that date in order to take all of your accrued leave if needed
