I am Navy and have already passed 2 months from submission.

My package was received by the PEB on August 31st. 2 weeks later they realized they had lost 936 pages of it. Luckliy I had my own copy of those pages so made another copy and sent them up. They said they got it and started reviewing again on September 15th. Still waiting on a determination.

I just saw another timeline where the guy was submitted to PEB on Oct 9th, had Unfit on Oct 20th and VA ratings on the 23rd. This was for the Army. I would think they have alot more PEBs to go through than the Navy. Why does ours take so long?

I was told a few weeks ago by the Lt Cdr at the Navy PEB that the backlog was due to a tech refresh in September that had some issues. He didn't give me any indication of how big or long the backlog is though. My package has been at the PEB for 2 months now.

Thanks. I have looked at those and I know for sure I won't have to pay it back once I am found unfit. I was just worried about losing the NEC before being found unfit. I should still be good but still slightly worried. Also, what happens if I lose the NEC and then a fit finding comes back...

Another concern I have is my NEC proficiency waiver expires on the 15th. I have no idea what will happen if I dont' have an answer by then. Will my loss of NEC at that point be considered due to medical or due to loss of proficiency? Could make the difference in paying back around $50k.
