Hopefully within the next two or three weeks you will get a call. In the meantime you can go on the VA website and file a claim for a freedom of information act to request your C&P exams to try and get a look at them prior to your narsum.

Sweet thanks, I would have ended up doing the same thing as you.

So I guess even though I'm at 23 years but technically medically retired I won't need to do that either. I made my ID card appointments for 31 October since I retire 30 October.

Did you end up not doing that May 22nd appointment? The one with your retirement ID?

I don't think it's a massive backlog right now, it seems its always been backlogged, for IDES there's only two places that work on the claims, I'm not sure once you retire if it goes to the general claims people where it sits in the queue for who knows how long.

VA claim closing after Ides completed ?

Usually it's within 30 days after your retirement date, did you ensure they had a copy of your DD214 prior to separation? You could call and ask. They already have everything done they should just need to verify it. Always amazes me it takes any time at all.

Should start to move along soon. Make sure you get copies of your medical records and start making a list of all your issues so you can fill out the VA form quickly after your MSC reaches out.

You could try an ERD and see if your chain of command supports and your local human resources people do as well. I've had one fire d where it worked and one where it didn't but it's worth a shot. ERD is early return of dependents.

They aren't done yet then. Once they are completed then you will see a claim closed. You won't see any steps or anything.

I did too, but while I was waiting for the VA to finish their decisions I got my exams a week early to look over them prior to.

Nice. Ya génesis is trash, typical of them to switch to an inferior system. Just like in the Army when they switched from the ERB/ORB to the STP and Ippsa...trash

I went through the VA website did the request and got them 3 days later. Didn't pay anything. As far as I understand, your C&P exams wouldn't be in your medical records until after the va is done with them as they are an independent exam, once they are completed and you've been given your rating...

    TRIPLER TIMELINE

No I'm talking from the VA to get your C&P exams. You can do the request on the VA website to get all your exams to check them out prior to them finishing your ratings

Did you guys do a FOIA request to get a look at your exams? Mine took 3 days to get, so I could get an idea what the doctors said.

Times depends on when the c&p examiners finalize documents and sign them all correctly and send them to the VA. Your MSC will know when that happens. I was impatient and immediately filed a FOIA request for my C&P exams and got them 3 days later which told me they were done and just waiting on...

Believe you can still apply to CSP regardless, but I get it the not knowing is the toughest part. If the CSP is local you could apply and start then go back to clear and take care of the rest when you find out.
