    Help with calculating CRSC

Seeking help and if worth it. Check my math. Thanks! I’m 100% p&t with VA. I’m 30% medically retired with 6 years 11 months. My info is below. I’m considering filing for IBS which is gulf war presumption. I have the diagnosis with the VA. The calculator below is based on 10% IBS rating. I...

    Never heard of this till....

One thing I wouldn't stress so much. Your lay statement is considered, but ultimately it's what in your records, especially the MED/PEB, the VASRD in effect at the time and how that would have been applied, as they will compare the VA rating system to the one air force used and compare it to...

Are those seperated recently still eligible to file for PDBR?

Per these guidelines no. " To help determine if you meet the criteria and are eligible to apply for the PDBR process, answer the following questions: Were you permanently separated from military service AFTER September 10, 2001 but before January 1, 2010? Was the reason for your separation...

PDBR back pay, still fighting with the VA

should have updated a while ago, the VA treated this as a claim and took a year to fix the pay, granted back pay and I get the full amount now, what a pain though. A year, really it took a year.

PDBR granted 30%, VA still re-couping severance, DFAS already re-couped

I posted a thread about this already, but. So I started getting retirement money 3/1/2013. I got about $5K back pay for years retirement. This was out of $41K. So here is where that money went. $40,996.40-total gross pay -$7,314.00-total VA debt -$27,862.20-Total amount retroactive retired pay...

PDBR back pay, still fighting with the VA

So the latest, is the Audit showed I still owe about $18K. The problem is DFAS applied $27k, out of the $40k in back retirement towards Severance. I also lost $7k because of monies I already got from the VA. DFAS sees exactly how much the VA has re-couped. DFAs sent paper-work to the VA. The...

PDBR back pay, still fighting with the VA

The VA has been recouping severance for about 4 years. My PDBR was settled, PAID and I get my monthly retirement starting this past March. I figure the VA owes me about $5K and counting they are still recouping even though DFAS used my back retirement money to settle my severance and DFAS paid...

    Honorable discharge to medically retired

I think this topic should be moved to the BCMR, not eligible for the PDBR, has to be medically discharged between 9/11/2001-12/31/2009 with a rated of 20% or less.

    PDBR Success and timeline

Yeah time to file a senate or congressional inquiry. Contact your representative and fill out their release form. Once the inquiry lands on DFAS's desk you will be surprised how fast you have your money.

    PDBR Success and timeline

Well the fact your in DEERs, but DFAS doesn't recognize doesn't make sense. Have you meet with a retirement officer and filled out a 2656, I left that out, but yeah. You also have to declare SBP, Survivor benefit Program which requires a notarized signature form your spouse to decline. But Yeah...

    PDBR Success and timeline

Ok I did one of these before, but I have an updated one. I was discharged in 12/2007 with 2 conditions, only 1 was rated for 10%. I got severance. I applied for VA compensation in 11/2009, yes I know I was foolish to not apply within my first year. The VASRD was changed in 12/2008 and this...

TRICARE Prime premiums frozen for those medically retired?

It didn't make sense to me either, but Tricare could make an argument it you wanted it backdated that you owe premiums similar to SBP. I enrolled this year, yeah it's not the $460 rate I should have gotten, but again medically retirees get the rate frozen, so still a good deal.

TRICARE Prime premiums frozen for those medically retired?

I asked DEERS and Tricare about this, the key wording is continuous enrollment. So the rate will be based on when you enrolled in Prime. Now that they are increasing it every year inline with COLA rates its best to get on-board early. So you will be paying the frozen rate from when you first...

    Need help with the PDBR

I think they will consider it. I didn't file my VA claim until 2 years after I left service. Yes I know this was silly and I lost 2 years of compensation. The VA initially rated me at 10%, appealed, got 20%. They did review the VA rating in fact I held off on the PDBR because I waiting for an...

    Questions about PDBR

Don't make yourself crazy over it. My approach with the PEB/MEB, VA, and PDBR is file, and occasionally followup. Assume you may no get what you expect. A lot of rules with the VASRD and PDBR are open for interpretation. Times are tough. My employer (thankful I have a job) has cut our health...

Letter from PDBR asking for revision

If you read the instruction and the polices, they cannot review stuff no identified and even mentioned on the PEB/MEB, so basically if the PTSD or something such as personality disorder was not listed on the PEB/MEB even if not rated, they cannot review it.

    Post PDBR Update/advice

Mine was complicated because I called the PDBR and asked to hold my file pending a VA appeal. When I applied the 2nd time they reassigned the same docket number because I guess you can only get one. So I am hearing about a year from application to decision.

    Need help with the PDBR

I was boarded in 2007, 12/13/2007 to be exact. The 2008 NDAA wasn't signed until 1/28/2008, the same law that enacted the PDBR. They weren't required until 1/28/2008 to rate based on the VASRD, the PDBR allows your rating to be reviewed all the way back to 9/11/2001 against the VASRD in effect...
