What are the claims labeled ? I.e. Does one say "IDES" and one say "compensation"? It could really mean anything. The raters are looking at it, they sent one off, etc. Unfortunately ebenfits doesn't act logical a lot of the time.

You should argue that they aren't. I would also highly advise to claim a lot more. If you appeal anything while still in service it will prolong the process greatly, so it depends on what you have going on, but I would make sure the VA will be taking care of you for life.

They typically give you a 30-90 day window. I requested 90 so I could fully use my PTAD and terminal leave. It just depends what you have going on really so request what works best for you.

The QA (quality assurance) phase is more or less an administrative term. They say it's being checked but I'm fairly certain it just lets them extend the time that a package sits in one location. Hopefully you get your findings back shortly.
