Some dates are rough estimates but I’m trying to see if this is atypical. I’ve read through some others and you guys are flying compared to me.

Super quick back story break in service with a denial for a now service connected surgical condition 2012-2016

P3 initiated Mar 19 25
Contact from msc and Peblo by 31 Mar 25
VA exams scheduled Apr 12 25
Va exams complete (qtc) Apr 28 25
Narsum and Dbq received May 25th 25
Complaint on VA examiner filed Jun 1st 25
Sent to PEB with unfit Jun 6th 25

Nothing since except word that some claims are deferred until separation and the complaint was investigated.
Like everyone I hate the waiting and trying to plan forward. Nothing on VA website and no VERA help except assigned to rater.

I hear you! Just went through all of that. It really all depends on the VA rater who has your case. 99.9% of the raters HAVE to substantiate with proper documentation the rationale behind assigning you a certain percentage. It also depends on how well documented the condition has been through your service and sometimes additional time to review medical records is needed. In my case, I learned that several of my claims were deferred due to absence of a specialist weighing in on particular conditions affected by deployment environments. They wanted to ensure that the hazardous assignments actually contribute to my diagnosis. If there is anything I have learned through this process is that they are not "out to get you". They are looking out for you to give you the best and highest rating possible before they say 0%. This takes time with the VA. Remember that they are also determining your DOD rating. Additionally, the PEB has to review once again that the VA proposed ratings are appropriate. The PEB cannot give your a rating that is lesser than what the VA is proposing. So, for the VA to take their time, yes please VA take your time!
