Backdated Travel Claim

I got my discharge upgraded 2 years ago from a SCM in 2003. I got most of my backpay and just working through the finer details. One of the details is a travel claim back to my home of record post discharge. today I get this letter from DFAS:

“We are returning your claim without action. We received your travel documents, however this office does not process travel claims. Please see your local finance office for proper settlement of your claim. Or your travel claim can be submitted online by going to Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS)”.

I don't have a finance office...or would that be HQMC?

Where was your last unit? I'm a disbo by trade. If it's a 1351-2 your refilling out to get corrected you'll have to submit it to your last Disbo Office of where you separated out of or whichever one serviced your area. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

The links I provided show where to submit different type travel claims. How are the orders invalid? Did you include any correction to records material?

Have you tried to submit it online as one of the links shows?

If that does not work, perhaps your old support detachment can offer a solution.

Also suggest reviewing the travel claim checklist to determine if all the required documentation was submitted.

If no one will help, recommend contacting one of your senators or the Congressional representative for your district.

I would not be reluctant to contact a congressman regarding the matter. I once had to do so myself.
