Posting my timeline for those curious. I’m an active duty officer with 19.4 years. My hope is that I make it to retirement or they choose to retain me. I’ll update this post as often as I receive information. And feel free to ask me questions.
 
Go through the process and once complete you can file a extension to keep you until you get your 20 through your PEBLO. I am at Jackson and you can see my timeline. Just wait till the last day to turn everything in.
 
As others have mentioned, you all with at least 19 years facing MEB will make it to 20 easily. The MEB process is slow and they offer so many extensions and time, that if you provide everything the last minute, appeal, or delay anything, it will push you over 20. Mine took 9 months alone with no extensions or appeals.
 
I haven't even remotely tried to slow the process down and I started in Sept 2024 and I am still not done yet. You should have no issues hitting your 20 and even like stated above you can push the responses out the maximum number of days and with the IMR rebuttals and extensions it should be easy.
 
I'm sure and hopeful you'll make it to 20. But just to put it out there so it's known... some processed are faster than others.
I was directed to a full MEB by the AF on Dec 20 and received my retirement orders Apr 29.

So to be safe, make sure you delay everything.
 
With that timeline and how long it will take you'll be good. Agreed to everyone else, on top of them giving you up to 90 days after you sign your DA199 in addition to your terminal leave I highly doubt you would be finished with all that in 7 months.

Should start to move along soon. Make sure you get copies of your medical records and start making a list of all your issues so you can fill out the VA form quickly after your MSC reaches out.
