I am active Navy separating within the next 2 months. During my C&P exams, they found a disqualifying lung injury. The pulmonologist said I can't dive ever again and that is my main job in the Navy. My command informed me they are considering pursuing a medical retirement for me. I don't want to stay in to see this full med board take months to conclude, because I have signed a lucrative contract with a company starting just days after I get out. I am also expecting 100% P&T when I get out.
What are my best options, IDES, LDES BCNR? The research I have done says
"Service Members must elect to waive their right to
proceed through IDES and obtain permission from the CO within
ten calendar days after a medical care provider refers them to
the Disability Evaluation System in order to proceed through
LDES."
Basically I can waive my right to do the IDES and continue the LDES when I am out but idk if I should just do a BCNR and hope for the best
