Navy FPEB request - taking longer than expected

Hi all,

As always, thank you for posting all your own timelines just so that people have some kind of a resource to draw on. It's helped immensely in this process when it's scary.

I received my findings from the IPEB on March 5th, and requested a formal PEB at my IDES attorney's advice to try to challenge my referring conditions being determined to have occurred in a combat-zone, but not be combat-related. (He also suggested trying to get TDRL changed to PDRL since he recommended challenging the combat determination anyway.)

I requested a formal board March 10th but have not received my board memo yet - my PEBLO told me it's currently taking about 30 days to receive a board memo that even schedules when my board will convene, that it's about another month from receiving the memo to when the board is scheduled to occur, and then another 3-ish weeks following to receive the determination.

I haven't seen too many explicit Navy FPEB timelines in here lately, but one other person who coincidentally is also located on JBPHH had their board memo within about a week, and their board about 2 weeks following.

I only ask because my PEBLO previously told me that my stuff went to the IPEB, but I continued to check LIMDUSMART for several weeks after and saw that it wasn't - it was waiting for the final convening authority signature, and I had to finally hit my PEBLO up specifically and sort of prod to get it finalized and sent up for real.

Any advice, info, guesses, and/or virtual high-fives would help. Thanks all.

First off, a virtual high-five to you for advocating for yourself. Navigating the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) is essentially a second full-time job, and challenging a "Combat-Related" vs. "Combat-Zone" determination is a high-stakes move that requires exactly the kind of persistence you’re showing.
