i just wanted to keep anyone that is interested on the soc. security process updated on my case, that way as you go through the process you'll know where you are at.
-a few months back i did the initial application.
-a few weeks after that i got a letter w/a date for a phone interview(VERY easy, just a few questions re: my injury/disability)
-a week later i got a HUGE packet of info. to fill out, the i began the "waiting game" for the denial
.
-today i got a letter in the mail stating that they needed to set an appointment for me to meet w/a doctor because they needed addiitional info. for my psychological disorder (post surgical depression).
***i actually see this as good news, because they did'nt need additional info. for my back injury/disabiity (that is the reason i applied. the psych. piece is just on top of my actual disability).****
to top it off to days before my soc. sec. appointment, i have my procedure for the spinal cord stimulator (SCS) trial implant. so it's not like i'm going to walk in there in the best shape. i think i lucked out on the timing. i'm not getting my hopes up, just like w/the whole DES, i'm expecting the worse. but i did think i would be denied after the initial application, fron the horror stories i hear from other people.
i will keep you guys posted, to make sure you have a good idea on how the process goes.
