Ok so i am being sent to 2 drs for ssdi exam first one is at a drs office they have a website and all is well they check out thats for my physical exam. my mental health exam is at a hyatt hotel... ive checked it out to make sure its not a bad address or a building that was converted nope sure is a hotel. If they want to see me nuts send me to a hotel for an exam thats one why to do it I guess. any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated as of now i am pissed that this is how a state govt handles these issues i will also be asking for credentials from the doctor lol

Would it make difference where the SSA contractor performs the exam? The BH portion of the SSDI evaluation is about one to two hours long. All they need is a desk and the materials required to do the eval.

Yeah it does matter how about a medical office where most medical exams and procedures are done I do expect some professionalism

It would be hard to guess if there was anything "fishy" given that it is a state contract. Not sure what could be done about the site before your exam. You would definitely not want to blow off the exam...that won't help your case. Seems you could complain or contact your state legislators and ask about this. Strikes me though that it may be that it costs less to perform exam at the hotel vice in an established office. All of this is just "spit balling" though as I have no information about the contract and what the practices are in your state.

Hope it goes well for you.

the doc. is probally a traveling doc that they bring in from another location to do exams. the state will rent office space/conference room and conduct as many in a day as they can. Most SSA doctors that ive meet (which is limited) where either very young trying to make ends meet/get patient quota's up, or 20 years past retirement age.

I would want to see the Doctor's credentials, name, etc., and then call the State Licensing Board to make sure they have current credentials and are up to snuff.

It's possible that this Doctor is a travelling Doctor. But I do wonder why the State doesn't simply rent a small office out in a State-owned building - or a Federal Building if this is a Federally paid worker.

Cant you get the credentials of the doctor before hand? Check out the hotels conference room? it is the Hyatt, so its not some ran down hotel. If you feel the hotel might trigger your MH then hey thats in your favor

I am with TSgt Twitch. I am thinking it is just a traveling Dr. I've heard that they are doing the Court hearing by video conferences as well. I think it is just to cut down on cost. I would not go in there with an attitude and possibly blow anything, not saying you would.

Indeed, it's quite simple really!

As such, please don't give the SSA State DDS any reason to deny a SSDI applicant's disability claim with a not "disabled" determination supportive by their rules and regulations; if so, it shall ultimately result in an unfavorable SSA decision in my opinion unfortunately.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
