Wait Time For Providence, RI

Haha, I love your logic, which totally makes sense. It's a love/hate relationship in my eyes, I can't get over the fact that I can't start a new career or start to prepare for a new life. But on the other hand, I just got my 12 year raise and the paychecks are still coming in........ZzZz

See if this attached little pdf helps,

Yeah I don't mind the getting paid thing and working a pretty miniumal amount time. It just sucks becasue I have to go to all these dr apt all over Massachusetts because we dont have anything internal. I live 35 miles away from base and am required to show up here every day, then I go to my doctor apiontments so i can continue to update MCMED's telling them yes I still am hurt, as you have already acknowledged by deeming me unfit for military service. It's just fustrating as hell and I keep taking leave so I dont go crazy. What sucks is starting school in a week, I can't get the BAH of the place the school is in, which is higher than my current BAH, all the while I have to keep telling my civilian job to wait longer and longer for me to return with no actual time table. Every time I send my updated orders I tell them it can get extended again and it probably will but hopefully I am out soon. Its hard for me actually try and plan my next step in life when I literally can't even tell if today, tomorrow or in six months my VA claim will be done. Then once that is done we have to go through Marine Corps Headquarters and all types of other shit just to be done. Sorry for the bitching fest I just need to air out, Im getting extremely fustrated.

Anyway, just a question does anyone know once the VA makes there determination how long it takes. I know it then goes back to the PEB for them to give their rating, then I get word of it and if you agree I believe it goes to your command? Then Marine Corps Headquarters? Just wondering about how long of a process it is after the VA finishes their rating if anyone knows.

Thanks guys sorry again about the bitching I just needed that

Indeed, rant on brother; rant on since it's good for the mind, body and soul in my opinion! :)

To that extent, please remember that we all are still human beings and not mindless automatons! Take care! ;)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

It is disheartening considering my package has been at Providence for only 6 weeks, I was hoping to have word back around another 6 weeks, oh well all I can do is wait.

Received my ratings yesterday....10% DOD 70% VA. Both my PEBLO and legal said to request a formal board due to my condition worsening. Looks like I will be here a little longer. I knew the DOD rating would be low since my unfit condition was for my cervical fusion and the rating is based on ROM. The doctor finally diagnosed me with vocal cord paralysis from the multiple neck surgeries. Hopefully it will be added.

How long was your file at the va?

I just checked eBenefits and mine went back to Gathering of Evidence. The Providence RO sent a letter to some doctor at the hospital here in Milwaukee requesting them to "perform a disability evaluation in connection with my claim". Heard they sent DBQ's (Disability Benefit Questionairre's) for my conditions which is exactly what the doctor did on my C&P Exam 440 days ago. The C&P exam was done on DBQ's and they were also sent as part of my claim. I'm going to be a bit upset if they try and make me go through another C&P exam. 440 days.....

Wow, that's a long wait but providence got on it quick!

I signed my paperwork over a week ago accepting my findings. I'm just waiting for my new EAS at this point. I heard some of my buddies saying that their Peblo says Providence hit the five month waiting period, but that doesn't mean everyone waits that long. I waited four months plenty others waited only a few weeks. There really is no way to see about making anything move faster.

Hi Fellow SMs,

I'm at Providence too and I hope we all see something soon. My case was sent to Providence on October 12, 2013, which is right around the same time that a couple of you have been there. I know there are a lot of you have been there a very long time, and longer than myself. I think they are speeding up a little. Providence contacted my Peblo at AFPC on 12/18/13 looking to see what my military status was, he provided them with the info and they closed out the claim that same day, but opened a new claim listed as IDES. The step of this claim was ratings and just today when I checked ebeneies it went to Pending Decision Approval, with estimated completion date of 1/29/14 - 2/21/14. Providence sent my case back to AFPC on 1/9/14, so I'm really hoping to hear something soon from at least the VA. Good luck to everyone and let's hope we all hear something soon.

@Tony22,

Since you signed your results, I'm assuming, well hoping that you liked them? Were they what you were expecting? Anyways, Congrats on almost being done with this whole Stinkin process!

Talked to my PEBLO today, I was told not to expect ratings anytime soon as the Army has flooded Providence with backlogged cases. I heard rumors of this happening but I guess it's confirmed now. As of right now there is no way to determine how this will affect our wait times in Providence, but the evidence reveals we may be in for some substantial wait times. Good luck......

For the new guys entering MEB/PEB and for those who have been here for a while, I like to welcome you to Hotel California!

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Congratulations on the recent receipt of your IPEB findings inclusive of DoD and DoVA proposed ratings!

Indeed, demand a Formal PEB hearing to ensure that all of your medical conditions which you feel are preventing you from performing your assigned military duties.

Nonetheless, please continue to push onward in a positively proactive manner; to that extent, you shall definitely succeed in my opinion.

Providence finished my ratings 31 days ago and AFPC still hasn't gotten my AF356 back to my PEBLO yet. I was told today that I should expect it to be back within 7 days... I won't hold my breath.

Well its day 127 now since the VA "accepted" my package, at the time of acceptance, they had 3500 packages pending, they have completed 5800+ in that time frame, Mine still does not have a rater assigned. There may be a load of army records coming in, but by following the RO numbers from the Monday mornign report, they are rating more cases then they recieve by 4-600 per month, So I am beggining to wonder if mine is lost in digital limbo.

TSgt Twitch,

I appreciate all of your service that you provide to us on this forum. I find your posts very informative and helpful! I'm sorry that you are going through this and that your case is in limbo. I prey your case gets processed soon! This whole process sucks, and for your case not to even have an assigned rater is not okay! Hopefully, your case will get the attention you deserve. I feel for ya'bro! Hang in there!

Indeed, I definitely occur as it's very evident in my own DoD IDES case file unfortunately! :(

Nonetheless, stay focus and continue to push onward in a positively proactive manner; to that extent, you shall definitely succeed in my opinion.
