I am reading the CFR trying to understand but I have come to a block. Neuritis is confusing to me. If I look at 8510 for the Upper Radicular Group I see the ratings for mild, moderate and so forth but why is neuritis and neuralgia empty to the right??? Can anyone explain?

Thank you in advance!

Via my interpretation of 38 CFR VASRD - Diseases of the Peripheral Nerves Schedule of ratings, it states that there exist three disability codes in which the particular medical condition can be either rated for Paralysis, Neuritis, and Neuralgia.

While the Paralysis disability code for a complete paralysis can yield a 70% rating (Major or Dominant) and a 60% rating (Minor or Non-Dominant) for its symptomatology and an incomplete paralysis (severe, moderate, mild), it seems that the Neuritis disability code and the Neuralgia disability code can yield only severe, moderate, and mild symptomatology [e.g., a 50% rating (Major or Dominant) and a 40% rating (Minor or Non-Dominant) for severe symptoms; a 40% rating (Major or Dominant) and a 30% rating (Minor or Non-Dominant) for moderate symptoms; and a 20% rating (Major or Dominant) and a 20% rating (Minor or Non-Dominant) for mild symptoms, respectively].

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
