So far my MEB board process has been very slow to start and I am rarely able to get a hold of my Dr or PEBLO. Here is my timeline so far...
Feb 14 - Dizzy spells increase in frequency after I gave birth. I was in the middle of PCSing so I didn't bother with seeing a Dr. I figured I wasn't eating/sleeping enough.
Jul 14 - Failed PHA hearing test at new base (hadn't had a hearing test since 2008) and sent to Audiology for further testing.
Jul 14 - Audiology referred to ENT due to dizzy episodes.
Aug 14 - ENT suspected Meniere's Disease and referred to Boy's Town Audiology for vestibular testing.
Aug 14 - Vestibular testing results indicate Meniere's Disease.
Sept thru Oct 14 - I try many different medications to relieve episodes which occur about every 3 days. Nothing works. PCM refers me case to the DAWG. Leadership is also completely ignoring the fact that I probably shouldn't be doing my job because our manning is so low.
23 Oct 14 - DAWG review is completed and Code 37 initiated.
7 Nov 14 - Leadership calls while I'm on leave to let me know my case is going to MEB board and they need the CC recommendation.
12 Nov 14 - I meet with my CC and completely rewrite to letter they wrote. It stated that I have not missed any days due to my condition and I am perfectly capable of doing my job. We pretty much rewrote it be be the exact opposite. She recommended medical retirement.
13 Nov 14 - CC letter signed and sent to PEBLO. Up until this point I have not heard from my PEBLO at all. I track her down to find out what else I need to do. She says see the Dr to get the NARSUM written.
4 Dec 14 - I see my Dr and fill out a NARSUM questionnaire. My Dr is a resident so he is very inexperienced with the process of MEB. He says "I don't know a lot about all this Air Force paperwork stuff". I sound that pretty unsettling.
22 Dec 14 - I haven't heard any updates so I call over to the Dr. Apparently he hasn't submitted my NARSUM because he didn't know who to send it to. My PEBLO went and tracked him down to help him.
I'm hoping something has been accomplished by now. We will see and I'll keep posting updates. How long are timelines till you get results of fit/unfit averaging these days?
