MEB- 29 May 15
1st VA appointment - 11 Jun 15
2nd VA appointment - 23 Jun 15
Signed package - 27 July 15
PEB received my package - 3 Aug 15

Now, I'm just waiting. My eBenefits just says Gathering of Evidence. Does it usually take over a month for the PEB to decide if you are Fit ot Unfit? Other people in my command who went through the PEB process told me it took a few of days to couple of weeks. Also, there was an error in my contract. I was involuntarily extented last year and the Board of Corrections has finally fixed it. Now I'm past my EAOS as of 6 July 15. Do I have to stay in since I'm going through the PEB?

You should already be out if past your separation date. As of the day the BCMR fixed your records. Finance got a copy of their decision and already put you in for your pay to be stopped if the AF works anything like the Army.

I would go to the PEBLO and discuss an extension to allow medical processing. It is in your benefit to complete the process. You cannot be forced to extend for it however. If you do decide to extend I would talk to the out-processing final out people and finance ASAP. You need things fixed so you can get back on the pay rolls. Likely you've been going to work for free since 6 July. Each day this continues your commander is digging a deeper hole for himself.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Wow! If you are indeed "off the military pay roll" then please immediately correct your situation as suggested by @scoutCC since you don't want any potential "blame game" retaliatory actions directed back upon you by your Command leadership in my opinion!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

I never said I was off the pay roll. Actually, my problem is the opposite. According to the Navy, I owe a lot more time than I actually do. So, I am getting paid. I shouldn't be according to my original contract. As far as fixing the error, that has already been done by the Board of Corrections which is where the issue is. Once my record is officially changed, I will be past my EAOS. Personnel is going to allow me some time to properly separate but with how long this PEB is taking, I don't think it will be enough. Its already been 4 months and I don't even know if they found me fit or unfit.

I'm sorry but I am not sure what you are talking about. My issue is with the timeframe of the PEB. Something you didn't mention in your response at all. Retaliation and blame games are not relevant to my situation. But thank you.

Okay, sorry about that! :(

In reference to your specific inquiry, naturally, each DoD IDES participant's case differs as well as their associated IDES processing timeline. The PEB phase has an officially published DoD timeline of 120 calendar days for both AC and RC military personnel.

As such, I am not familiar with the U.S. Navy's current processing times of PEB findings for a fitness determination; therefore, I don't have any additional feedback at this point. Hopefully, other PEB Forum members shall offer their targeted response(s) to your specific inquiry. Take care!

The US Navy, as far as I have heard, has 3 weeks from the day the package is received at the MEB, to make an unfit or fit determination. From there they send to the PEB for the 120 day determination of ratings, etc.
