Asthma and flying

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Let me start out with a little information. I am I maintenance. I was diagnosed two years ago. I was able to PCS to Japan. I Have finished my meb and been cleared for service. Coded C-1. Have awesome PT scores ranging from 96 to 98 and only have a inhaler prescribed, so I'm assuming it's very controlled. Sorry for the lack of information on that, I haven't been as on top of the medical stuff as I should of been when I was diagnosed. I deeply regret this, especially now. I also caught a case of pneumonia and bronchitis a month ago which I believe to be a fluke due to everyone in my flight catching something around that time.

In the next couple months I will have the opportunity that I have been dreaming about. Becoming a flying crew chief. I've been MXS all four years I've been in, and proved myself as a maintainer.

I've requested to move to the flight line and become a flying crew chief and it's in the works. But here is the the problem. I talked to my PCM today during my RILO and he said he doesn't know if I will be cleared to fly out of lack of knowledge. I've built up a lot of anxiety over the last few hours, which is unlike me. I just don't want to be unfit for flying after I've worked so hard to achieve it. I don't want to approach flight medicine wrong and ruin my chances. I am desperate for any help you guys can provide me and information. Thanks

Look at the Air Force Waiver guide. I believe you would fall under Class III flyer. It will tell you there weather or not it is waiverable.

III. Waiver Consideration.
Any type of asthma or history of asthma is disqualifying for flying duties in flying class (FC) I/IA, II/IIU, III, ATC/GBC or SMOD personnel.

This is right out of the Waiver guide. But below this it talks about the conditions treatment and weather it can be waived or not.
