All- reading one of site founder's post's- as thought- "Do Not Forget Look At Gumbo" hilarious, by the way, saw this add for "Gene-sight Genetic Testing" and in PEB Forum Banner!

Was wondering if anyone out there had tried this and if effective with their medication management/ profile?

Their web-address, for example only, is https://genesight.com/endtrialander...MIxcycoYHR3wIVF8jjBx0VjwXvEAEYASAAEgKfsfD_BwE I believe?

Have met more than enough "vet's" whom have had "adverse" reactions to US DVA MH Meds than can count (some in not so pleasant environments and in those environments largely because of this)....so just wondering if anyone out there has actually tried this and if so had positive results in assisting in managing their medications for say PTSD/Depression, etc..... without the trail and error part or better yet have done trail and error, then this and it assisted greatly?

Thanks.....

It doesn't hurt to try. I've done it and although it won't tell you exactly what medication will work best for you, it will let you know which medications will have the most effect on you now that can either be good or bad. It would help your doctor a little bit to determine what meds might work best

OmeletCookingChamp- thanks, perhaps will lokk into based on this....odd....if even somewhat effective, as per your experience then why is not US VA System-US Bureau Prisons- and State Level MH Facilities utilizing? As, oddly in DSM-V pages 709-714 whole section dedicated to "Medication-Induced Movement Disorders and Other Adverse Effects of Medication"?

It would help your doctor a little bit to determine what meds might work best

Ergo, I concur with your assessment above, and not current US VA and others methodology of the "dart" board approach to MH medication, in perhaps whole lot of cases.....

Thanks OmeletCookingChamp- much more than appreciated........

BTW- have you or anyone else ever heard at US VA of "Hyperthymestic Syndrome?" It is much different than "hyperthyroidism"!

Best regards.......

Thanks @OmeletCookingChamp- much more than appreciated........

BTW- have you or anyone else ever heard at US VA of "Hyperthymestic Syndrome?"

OmeletCookingChamp- saw online recently, will assume both you, nor anybody else this Forum is aware of what it is, no surprise as apparently and per SOP, nobody Mental Health (MH) Gulf Coast VA/VISN16 is aware of what is either nor if US DVA even has latest testing guidelines and actual tests for it.......

It is a shame because if a veteran simply has this due to Combat as well as bad post combat perhaps it can greatly affect whole host cognitive issues....

OmeletCookingChamp- ALL- thanks and just wanted do a soud check with other vet's all US Global conflicts and see anyone aware of this....

Alos, do not believe even in the MH Bible DSM-V....?????

Might be interested in, for example only:

In the beginning was the word, and the word was embodied – David Robson | Aeon Essays "Words as feelings" by AEON as some things this article might also be part of cure for many things many disabled suffer, such as possibly "Hypertystemic Syndrome" as is recommend by US DVA, Speech Pathology, working with in Patient Align Care Team (PAT) as well as other's such as US VA Neuro-PsDy memory testing(?) that many veterans from all US Global Conflicts, should possibly have done...as this article seeking "understand" beginnings language amonst other things....????? {Or if a veteran has US VA Neuro-PsDy memory testing done, should have possibly ID'd "Hypertystemic Syndrome" and vet informed.....???}

(PS: Still issue this web-site some reason...)

OmeletCookingChamp- ALL - per above, thought occurred to me to ask the Forum, does anyone's local VA US VA System/VISN offer genetic testing or have any geneticists on staff?

As per usual, local vet asked providers at Gulf Coast VA System/VISN16 about "Gene-sight Genetic Testing " and per usual-supposedly- never heard of it!

Furthermore, know vet that was potentially at risk for having obtained "acute intermittent porphyria" or the "Madness of King George" and one of best ways test for is via a genetics test- which had hard time obtaining at a local Military Base that had geneticist and genetics lab. Furthermore, it has apparently been discovered- via numerous media articles- that those suffering Gulf War Syndrome"- "Multi-symptom Illness" are in fact affected at the cellular level.... hence the potential need for the US VA within the VHA to have "geneticists" on staff among other things.....particularly at "showcases" like the "primer" US VA "War Related Illness and Injury Centers- x3", I do believe.....????

Anyway, OmeletCookingChamp- ALL- would appreciate thoughts..and as always could be wrong.....?????

PS: Sadly "vet" in question when attempted get US VA providers place "consult" - for "genetic testing" was supposedly told they had read and knew more about it than they did....what dose that say if true?????

(Still issues this web-site....)

OmeletCookingChamp- ALL - peer above and possible "vet" having contracted something like "acute intermittent porphyria" while deployed, on the cellular level, it is well know fact various sources that "dependents" of those whom contracted "PTSD" say in World war II-Korea-Vietnam; are themselves more likely to also contract PTSD, if exposed similar hazards as well..... ergo things like, for example only, at web-address: Chapter 13 Dependents and Survivors Benefits - Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs (might also see, example only following web-site: https://www.ssa.gov/people/veterans/ )

Furthermore, following quote in "italics" per (for example only) Million Veteran Program (MVP) "The goal of MVP is to partner with Veterans receiving their care in the VA Healthcare System to study how genes affect health. To do this, MVP will build one of the world's largest medical databases by safely collecting blood samples and health information from one million Veteran volunteers.."

Additionally, in science-fiction, one often hears of terms "genetic" memory or "blood-memory" , such as in "vampire movies..." this is in fact not a new concept at all, but apparently goes back to "Plato" and "Carl Jung" among others- see below web-links for example only:

- Genetic Memory: How We Know Things We Never Learned

- Remembering Things From Before You Were Born

Additionally, various media sources their is "scientific testing" ongoing to solve this "riddle" as well as the fat that if one submits their "genetic" material for say DNA "family history" testing- one needs ensure that test results in fact not shared with the "corporate" world as apparently beginning to "genetically" screen applicants for employment in some quarters of the corporate world.....

For those whom, might not possibly know what a "family tree" is I would suggest the following web-slinks as an example only:

- jesus family tree poster - Google Search

- muhammed family tree poster - Google Search

- family tree buddaha - Google Search

Or simply look for some books on the topic....or other internet sources....????

So given all the above, as well as fact those veterans whom have officially been diagnosed with "Gulf War Syndrome" or "Multi-Symptom Illness" what in fact is the likely hood of them passing it on to their direct descendants if it is at the very basic "cellular" level in their bodies....??? Furthermore, why so hard for "vets" get "genetically" tested if warranted- perhaps- or no "geneticist's" on staff at major US VA Facilities and-or programs......????????

Once again thanks OmeletCookingChamp- ALL- and love to hear others thoughts on the matter.....
