I suspect you will be out by May.

30-45 days for the VA to get results to the PEB
50-60 days for the PEB to get results to the PEBLO with your proposed disposition.

@tjveres how did you find out you were unfit? I called the PEB today and they said that the medical officers have looked at it and it is in final QA. Anyone have any insight if I’m unfit or fit?
Peb accepted my case Jan 6.

If you enter into Pending VA you were found unfit. You wont know until after it leave the QA status. Generally no more than 15 calendar days in that status (SECNAV).

It’s been with QA since the 10th. My lawyer said that means unfit but I’m just nervous and don’t want to get my hopes up if not. If I was fit wouldn’t they have just not sent it to the QA?

Typically that is accurate. It will usually sit in QA longer for an unfitting decision. If you are found fit the "expected" turn around is less than 10 days to be routed back to you for notification.

I wouldn't say you are "safe" to get your hopes up until it enters into the pending VA decision. At that point you know the QA has been completed and your package has been sent to the VA for ratings. The only reason for a package to go to VA is if you are found unfit.

Okay cool. Well I appreciate your help. It’s been there for 13 days so hopefully that means I’m getting out. I hate this waiting game!

So it does go to QA for both unfit and fit? My lawyer said it inky goes to QA if you’re unfit.

My understanding is it goes to QA either way.

Its a long process... especially for anyone under the SECNAV PEB. When you are looking to compare timelines, make sure you stick to the Navy and Marine Corps timeline threads as they will give you good benchmarks. You are looking at a likely 90-100 days before hearing much else if you are found unfit, and another 90+ if you appeal the decision.

The process is terrible, but keep your head up and stay positive. Use this time to set up the best transition you possibly can by networking and researching what type of jobs you would like to ultimately end up in.

yeah I appreciate the help. I already have jobs in the GS system lined up waiting I just have to get an official word of getting out or staying in. It is a very painful process.

VA closed compensation case on VA.gov - 27 Jan 2020

That’s awesome. Mine was in QA on 10th of Jan. So I should hear something soon. Hopefully you get all the percentages you want!
Hopefully the PEB doesn’t take as long as everyone has been saying. Looking forward to have this process completed. Best of luck to ya!

PEB has received package back from VA via conversation with PEBLO - 28 Jan 2020

You are looking at a ~45-50 day waiting period until you receive your ratings based on my conversations with the PEB this week. I wouldnt be surprised if they start slowly chipping away at that number now that the holidays are completed (already have seen a minor improvement from just a few weeks ago), but that will give you a good baseline.

I just got my findings back from the PEB. They received them from the VA on 5 DEC and my PEBLO got them back on 28 JAN. So they are still averaging 50-60 days.

Hopefully it goes quicker than that.. I can see yours taking so long because of the holidays, I’m sure people got very lazy up there.

My case hasn't even been submitted to the IPEB and I had my C&P exams done before you....
This is what I got on Monday- The Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) at your base Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) sent your Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) package to the Air Force Personnel Center Physical Disability Operations Branch. The Physical Disability Operations team is reviewing your package to ensure the documentation is current and complete.

mind you Ive had a case on ebenefits for the MEB since 21 October and my final C&P was done on 8 Jan (check on my previous posts to see why mine is such a clusterf….) I just hope I have a retirement date before my ETS of 25 April 2020...
