Does this stop everyone’s case until the government re-opens in the chance it shuts down?
Are you just asking for reference? When has the government shut down beforeIf you can’t tell my med board is partially for anxiety haha
not sure, I haven’t even heard anything though? Also I feel like the government that would shut down wouldn’t be this side of it. The PEB/VA I feel shouldn’t shut down, I think they are their own entity. With all the current talk about how it could shut down next week, it’s got me curious
Most DoD Civilians will get furloughed (laid off) while the government is shut down, that means that your PEBLO, as well as most other civilians involved in your case won't be at work, so you might have some communication lag, and it might slow your case down by a couple of days, but overall I think you should still be on your current timeline unless the shutdown drags on for a really long time, hope this helps to ease your anxiety about this.Does this stop everyone’s case until the government re-opens in the chance it shuts down?
Short version, yes. PEB and PEBLOs are largely civilians.Does this stop everyone’s case until the government re-opens in the chance it shuts down?
Oh, I don't know....4 years ago? New to the military? When has the government shut down before
Incorrect. PEB and VA comes to a screeching halt except for the most critical care functions. "Government shutdown" means all government, not just DOD.not sure, I haven’t even heard anything though? Also I feel like the government that would shut down wouldn’t be this side of it. The PEB/VA I feel shouldn’t shut down, I think they are their own entity.
Been through several shutdowns in the past, in general. That's basically what I've seen, just a pickup of work wherever it was left. Of course, it usually takes a couple of days to get synced back up.follow up question @PERS-95 , do they just pick back up where every case was left off if they do close and re-open?
All depends on what your Branch does for a process. I feel like most of those offices would be active duty doing the work, but maybe that's not the case for each branch. Any office that has civilians is going to experience a work stoppage to some degree. What if I’m waiting for a new EAS date
