31 JAN 24 - PEBLO meeting/

13 FEB 24 - MSC meeting

22 FEB 24 - First VA Appointment

13 MAR 24 - Last VA Appointment (5 in total)

28 MAR 24 - All DBQs uploaded on Tricare online

After some detective work on my end I discovered that optumserve lied to me last week when I called to ask if everything was completed and uploaded in their end. After some digging I found the discrepancy and kindly asked them to correct it, quickly. They obliged, tho they would not acknowledged or explain how the oversight occurred. The DBQs were filled out appropriately, however there are a bunch of discrepancies between treatment records, discussions during the exams and several range of motion measurements.
Damn, I hate that for you but hope things fly by for you at this point!

okay so sounds like we're right about in the same spot, fingers crossed that NARSUM comes through soon! I was hoping last week... but here we are lol. This week for sure (or at least, im putting that out into the universe)

found out that my case was assigned to a physician to write the NARSUM on 28MAR, which is 2 days after i saw the last DBQ uploaded to tricare online.

My DBQs were uploaded to TOL on 02 March, and I received my NARSUM on 11 March. I'm at Cavazos though.

How did you find out? This process is hella annoying, we should have the damn narsums by now, but because the contracting companies sat on them for no apparent reason, we lost 2 plus weeks of the process.

We have similar timelines. I’m also at Bragg. I received my narsum on Friday.

They’re basically saying my claimed conditions meets retention standards but my referred condition doesn’t

Would you mind sharing yours so others can reference in the future? Thanks.
I just realized you meant sharing my timeline lol

29 JAN: Notification about Optum Serve appointments
5 FEB: Went over availability with Optum Serve
14 FEB-19 MAR: Optum Serve Appointment

, I was wondering what you were talking about. I went to the pleblo offices Friday to inquire about where my Narsum was, suspicions about optumserve screwing the pooch were correct, their admin error did in fact cost me 2 weeks for no good reason. Good news is I should have it this week as it's with the docs and is getting written up. They said the PEB phase is going quick, should have ratings and 199s in about 4 to 5 weeks or less after signing narsum.

No of course not. No additional disqualifying conditions added, of which I know for a fact there are at least 2, and my disqualifying condition which was caused by a bad jump, says unknown cause, when it clearly states the cause in my records. I'm speaking with the pleblo tomorrow morning, he wanted me to wait until I spoke with him to schedule legal for whatever reason. I have all the discrepancies highlighted and stickied with notes from my medical files. I will not concur most likely but will see what he and legal say. I want my referred condition to be annotated correctly as jump related so I get it combat coded and get my pension tax free.

Fight the good fight. I fought mine and ended up with combat related PDRL. My Purple Heart of course helped because of the situation but yeah.

Yeah that’s how mine was. Mine isn’t jump related but I’m doing a rebuttal.

Did not concur with board's decision and did not request an IMR based on attorney's guidance. She said it was a waste of time and to fight the fight at the PEB stage to get the unfit DOD conditions added at the PEB stage. Good news is that she is positive I am 100% PDRL VA, which is awesome!

Did you want to receive more unfit DOD in the NARSUM? I think i'll be in the same boat, only the conditions that I was referred to IDES for (bilateral knees, spine) were unfit and caused by service. What % do you think you'll get DOD, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just trying to quell my anxiety at this point lol. I reeeeeaallyyyyy hope I don't have to appeal because I'm starting school July 8th in CA.

Additional questions --

Did you look over anything specific in your packet? Mine is 327 pages long with the exams and stuff so I really don't know what I'm looking at tbh.
What is IMR?
So you can concur but not request an IMR?

How long do we think it'll take from here? My understanding is that it's been about a month turn around to the next point and then days to receive orders after that next point. Trying to hopefully get out of here like end of may beginning of june!

Also, leave. I'll have 95 days of leave so I'm not sure how that's accounted for since they usually give you 28 days to transition.

Did you want to receive more unfit DOD in the NARSUM?
Yes. They ignored several conditions that I have been treated for since 2021 related from the same event.

What % do you think you'll get DOD, if you don't mind me asking?
Right now? 10% DOD, maybe 20. With the rebuttal and the additional conditions over 50%.

Annotate the conditions you feel are unfitting, that they deemed fitting and support them with medical evidence, hopefully you have your medical records on digits to do this. If you do not, download your medical history from genesis, take notes related to said conditions regarding treatment and diagnosis. The IDES attorney can assist you with this as well, but its better to do your own due diligence in conjunction.
Also look at your DBQs. These are the documents the C&P examiners filled out for your VA exams. Cross reference those with the 38 CFR to get an idea of your VA ratings.
Make sure your summary of conditions is correct in the NARSUM. Mine were all over the place and in some instances downright inaccurate, which is why I did not concur.

Independent medical review. An impartial third party will "quality control" the work of the NARSUM author. In many instances, they tend to side with the opinion of the original author, though results vary. This is why my attorney suggested to not forgoe this option.

Two to 4 weeks to get your ratings and 199 is what both the PLEBLO and Legal told me the last couple days. PEB is currently going extremely fast according to them. another week or two to get orders

You only have 90 days once either you sign your 199 or get your orders, I don't remember which, that includes terminal leave, PCS (10), and TDY (10). You are likely going to have to sell some days or take them.
