I just noticed CRSC has as much as 6 years of retroactive back pay. I retired in 2014. Because of my brain injury it took me 48 months to complete a favorable CRSC packet. I thought I would receive 48 months of retroactive pay. I was awarded 12 months. Was there a recent change of the law?

I also notice Richard Star Act, do you think I am eligible for this when it becomes law

Thank you for any guidance

Hello,

Did you receive VA compensation and have your retired pay reduced by the same amount during the 48 months in question?

Your CRSC approval document includes the effective date. Is there a narrative included with the determination?

Hello, I hope you are well. I appreciate you replying before. I am attaching the out come of DFAS audit. The letter they sent was not readable as the font was to large and they gave me a bad copy. Do you know if I am due money because it has total DFAS due?

Thank you,
Brad

Hello,

I am just using my phone but I do not see your attachments . I will check this evening and someone might help you before that.

Ron

I guess it was to big to send. This is the recap.

Total award $76000
Less total amount paid $51000
Less total retired pay adjustment $12000
Less total change adjustment $0
Total DFAS due $12000

It also appears that they didn't pay retroactive for the first 16 months

Hello,

I cannot offer a meaningful explanation from the limited info provided.

Needed:

1. CRSC approval letter
2. Entire audit information including narrative
3. Most recent CRSC statements
4. Most recent DFAS RAS

On the MRSA - I don’t expect it to pass this year (or maybe ever). Also, it’s likely to be capped at longevity, so there’s a ceiling there for most of us.

This is spot on.... many "veteran-friendly" or "pro-military" pieces of legislation are brought up every year, get support on paper, and then don't pass. On the other hand, things that greatly benefit many servicemembers or veterans, such as the PACT Act, do pass. My opinion is that it is best to fight for all you are due under current laws or regulations, but keep an eye on things such as the MRSA.
