JAN 2025 - IRILO initiated
14 MAR 2025 - Full MEB directed
26 MAR 2025 - MSC contacted
22 APR 2025 - All C&P exams completed
6 JUN 2025 - AF 618 signed and forwarded

Will update as I go, it’s been radio silence since the 618 was submitted.

I was supposed to receive those myfss emails but I haven’t gotten anything. I have a feeling my email preferences weren’t updated on there.

I have contacted them many times but I get very generic responses and very little information. I did update the myfss email preferences but as of now have not received anything. From what I’ve been told though, my packet was submitted to AFPC on the 6th of June.

try calling the VA at 1-800-827-1000, and when they check your claim ask them if they are awaiting a response from IPEB, or if your claim has been assigned to VERA yet. From there you can tell if your waiting on the DOD or the VA.

If the VA says their waiting on the DOD/PEB/IPEB then you gotta get through to your PEBLO. Set up a time to meet face-to-face with them. If the VA says that PEB is complete/assigned to rater then you gotta talk to your MSC, again set up a face-to-face if you are getting the run around

I called the VA and they said my claim was assigned to a team on July 17th.
alright then there is nothing the PEBLO can do if it's assigned to a VA team. It just means for whatever reason your claim got held up. You can call your MSC (the VA rep you talked to before your C&P exams) to see if they have more info.

you may be able to call the VA at 1-800-827-1000 and ask them to email you a copy of your VA claim letter and get a copy of your proposed VA %.
Any tips on how to ask? I've called at least 7 times but each time the rep seems to read from the same script. They say they can't release the letter and I need to talk to my PEBLO if I have any questions.

unfortunatly I dont, maybe try again in 24 hours? sometimes it takes a while for the claim letter to populate for them to send you a copy

I spoke with the PEBLO today, got no information at all other than my case is still with a case manager at AFPC. They couldn’t tell me if I was even fit or unfit and couldn’t rule out a return to duty. I’m extremely pissed off and anxious now.

That sounds stressful, I'm sorry. For what it's worth I'm 90% sure the VA wouldn't have rated you if the PEB found you fit to serve.
Cause I'm pretty sure your claim(s) goes:
To a local board > if found unfit > goes to AFPC for error checking > Goes to IPEB for fit/unfit > if found unfit > goes to VA to get rated > VA sends ratings to IPEB, and IPEB pretty much copies what the VA found for JUST your MEB conditions > Goes to AFPC > Goes to PEBLO > goes to you

Again I could just be wrong, but I doubt the DOD would go through all the trouble of rating you at the VA if you're still fit for duty, ya know? Cause I know the VA will not rate you until a PEB determination. And I'm not sure if AFPC has the power to overturn an IPEB unfit finding and say 'nah they can serve' once you ALREADY have BOTH the VA and DOD ratings.

You should be ok, I honestly think the worst that will happen is AFPC finds a typo or some other dumb error, sends it back for corrections, and that's it.
