Starting my own timeline as there’s a lack of recent Sheppard ones

In-patient stay - 27 Apr 25
Notified of AMRO - 11 Sep 25
CIS signed (Do not Retain) - 23 Oct 25
PEBLO initial contact- 23 Oct 25

PEBLO said they’re hoping to have my package sent to AFPC by COB tomorrow, was told 50-60ish days with the shutdown for a response

I also think having RA as a referred condition kind of hurts me cause I can’t claim individual joints like knees/ankles. 12 claims doesn’t seem like a ton cause of that

I brought up my knees/ankles/elbows etc multiple times with my MSC on the phone call and she said it’s “covered by RA.” Maybe in the exams I can bring it up but I think it would just be pyramiding.

P.S. thanks for your timeline I’ve been using it as an estimate for mine!

no problem, my MSC also lumped together my shoulder tendontitis, labral tears, bursitis, and synovitis all into (Shoulder pain). She kept saying to keep it generic for her. Once u have ur exam just wanna individualize everything and say exactly what each thing is like i did up there.

Sent an email yesterday to my MSC to try and get 1 condition formally removed from my claim as the exam availability looks like it isn’t until late February. Would anyone happen to have experience with this? I’d rather just move the process along and file for it after I’m out if need be.

MSC reached back out and sent me a VA Form 21-4138 and all I had to do was sign and date it. They’re going to reach out to OptumServe to cancel my appointment on 21 Feb.

Also in the email they said “All his exams are all available in JLV/HAIMS and I’ll send them once I see the exam is cancelled and await your DoD SAFE request”

I assume that means once the PEBLO gets them I’ll move onto the MEB stage and get to look over my C&Ps

Checked VA app randomly and saw claim was in there, Step 5/5 complete. Looking at others timelines it looks like this doesn’t happens until after the local MEB. I haven’t seen my C&P exams yet let alone signed and sent to local board. Anyone with insight perhaps?
 
The local board requires your PEBLO to send the C&P exams to the AMRO board on base (this isn’t a for sure answer, this is what I’ve gleaned from my own case).

The whole IDES process is supposed to be the DoD working in tandem with the VA. They can work independently of each other.

The C&Ps get sent to your MSC which will start the VA evaluation. I mean, you literally started a VA case, hence the C&P exams.

These two things happen simultaneously, but do not have any impact on each other.

The biggest impact your VA rating will have is on your IPEB timeline.

Further, the 618/IMR are what the AMRO board makes you sign for the IPEB to start their portion. If I remember correctly mine went like this

C&P -> MSC -> VA/PEBLO -> AMRO B -> 618/IMR

Btw, the AMRO/B at my base met on the 2nd/4th Tuesday/Thursday of the month. If I didn’t ask my PEBLO for my C&P exams, I wouldn’t have seen them. Not saying you didn’t, but that’s how I saw them. On that, if you call your MSC and ask them for your VA percentage they might tell you verbally. Mine did.

Fantastic info, thanks! I did email my MSC on Wednesday so hopefully they get back to me sometime early next week.

Just got a call and received proposed VA rating, 100%. Big relief and makes the waiting game a little bit easier.

Looking at the TomTooLong02 tracker, seems like people are completing IPEBs super fast, anywhere from 2-5 weeks. Hoping for a fast turnaround like the others.

No real update as of yet. Day 21 since first myFSS email. Feel like everyone else around my timeline got theirs back super fast. Talked to the PEBLO on Monday and she said 30-45 day timeline, but that feels pretty generic. Hopefully hear something soon.
 
Update: PEBLO emailed me on Friday saying she reached out to my case manager at the PEB and I should have my ratings this week.
