Ironicaly, I am at FT Carson. I was prior AF for 17yrs and was medically separated w/severance, so I think I have a unique perspective about this whole process. That's why I want to make sure my soldiers get as much info and everything that they deserve for what they have gone through. I don't want the same thing happening to them that happened to me.
Wow, I will have to refer soldiers to you as Fort Carson is the post I have the most problems with when helping soldiers. The WTU there seems to be ok but the Chain of command is well "very Dark!" They have Med hold units for soldiers going thru the MEB but do not always allow them to go to the VA appointments as they don’t always get an appointment slip for those. Also I’ve been told soldier’s commanders have ways of pushing the MEB to not reflect things like PTSD and even TBI. And are telling their troops that they will get that done after they get out and to not bother the PEBLO's with it because it delays the process. I wish the soldiers I know could come to you and I will be giving them your name if you don’t mind to get the best help.
Thanks The Chief
