Seattle Regional VA Timelines:

Last Friday I email my state representatives and senators and signed their release forms on Monday. Today I got a call from the VA saying that I need to come back into the clinic and have my exams done again (range of motion, specifically). I don't think it's a coincidence. Sure enough, EBenefits reflects this too... they need more info to go forward.

So does anyone know what the deal is here? Are they going to fast track my new exam and crank my ratings out or am I going back to the bottom of the pile?

I'm surprised they just didn't stay with the 70% proposed so you can get your 199 and then let you redo your exams once you became a Veteran since once you become a veteran they review you proposed rating again to finalize them

When I got my proposed ratings they wanted me to have my scars remeasured and more pictures took but they still gave me my ratings and I was told to make sure I get that handled once it was time for my proposed to be finalized

No point to delay you for an exam when the already gave you preliminary ratings, since they have to review to finalized after your a vet just give you the 199 now

If you're at a WTU try going to visit your VA office and have the OIC contact the Seattle office directly. That is what I had to do (or rather what I had IG do for me)....IG forced her hand into contacting the supervisor of the Seattle raters to push my packet through after the same wait time you are experiencing. I think me visiting her office and the PEBLO office daily for the past month also encouraged them to do something.

Once you go over a certain wait time inquiries about you claim will show up to raters in Seattle as urgent

I have sent 2 iris inquires, and a congressional this last week, Ebennies went from "gathering evidence" to "Received Evidence"-Special Correspondence, back "Gathering Evidence"., with historical claim info of "Appeal possible" decision letter sent. Im totally confused. I guess they now just want to bewilder us to dead.

I would go ask your PEBLO what is going on Bobby, but it sounds as if it is done if it is saying an appeal is possible.

As far as going over certain wait times and showing up urgent. I saw the VA tracker for that, which is just a RED/YELLOW/GREEN status report that they run and show in what stage each claim is. Mine sat in the red for a long time before it was completed....so not sure how much that piece matters to the raters to be honest.

That's what they are supposed to be implementing, similar to how the IRS does business. This way veterans don't have to wait up to two years especially those who may be displaced.

Waiting on the official ratings, but VA rated my 100% for all conditions, but only 10% for my one referred (unfitting condition according to DOD)--my neck injury, which I found odd since it was my biggest complaint.

I'm just hoping that the PEB rated me at 30% or more now..

Within the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process, the DoVA D-RAS rate all medical conditions (PEB referred and VA claimed conditions).

Upon DoVA rating(s) availability, the PEB shall utilize the DoVA rating(s), but the PEB doesn't rate; they only provide a medically unfit or medically fit determination.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Luckily im not in the WTU due to my job, and i had no idea there was an officer actually up there at the VA, ive only seen civilians working up there! So i guess ill check that out today

I got a call from my MSC today. I was shocked when she said the preliminary VA ratings was 100%. She wouldn’t tell me the DoD percentage, saying that was the PEBLO’s job to do that; however, she did hint that it was fairly high. I would think it would have to be at least 70 to make it to 100 overall VA. Finally, some good news. I hope to hear from my PEBLO in the next few days for the 199 sit-down.

Excellent news! Congrats! Yeah I would have to agree if VA=100% then DOD must at least be 70-80%

Its nice to see that some people have excellent VA reps. I called my MSC yesterday to tell her that my ebennies was requesting "seperation documents"...she told me that info had nothing to do with me and I need to wait like everyone else. Im trying to be proactive and she is getting an attitude...I have already had one 4 month hold I dont want another because of bad communication.

Is there a way to see if your da199 is being typed or where its at in PEB?

Like many I have seen my eBenefits go to pending decision approval as of 4/25. I am happy to see it move forward after 5 months of stagnation. I hope it continues its forward progression and I hope everyone else has success too.

Like I said before though, for anyone waiting it is almost a role of the dice if your claim will process quickly or not. I have seen many people in my unit go through the process fast and, if I am being honest, a fewer number go slowly. If you are the one that goes slowly and are on this forum looking for answers as to why or what you can do to speed it along.....my advice is to do the most you can with congressional and command pressure but in the end you are more often than not going to be told to just wait. I don't know about the 125 day late gets extra visibility since I am at 195 days since my packet was sent to the VA for rating and the response to my congressional was "unfortunately the VA is still processing his claim". That was the official response and my congressman is Senator Levin, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee. So my advice is definitely work all the angles but don't get your hopes up....expect the absolute worst and if it doesn't happen you will be happy. Honestly I am a very positive person but in this process there is no place for positivity unless you want to be mad and pissed off all the time.....or if you want to break bad news to your family and hear your wife cry at least twice a week. Also....if you are getting mad at your PEBLO....in most cases they have no power to do anything unless it is at the local level (like your MEB or processing paperwork). After you MEB your PEBLO just tracks and pushes the paperwork through once they get it.....that was one of my recommendations to congress to give the PEBLO's more ability to be involved throughout the process. Anyway....that is my two cents.

Good luck to everyone and I hope your processing goes fast.

I know your PEBLO can track the location of your packet.....so if the VA rated it and sent it to the PEB your PEBLO should be able to see that it is at the PEB
