Have you requested a medboard yet? You don't need to wait for your command to request one. I would head over to your nearest Navy MTF or call your limdu coordinator and talk with them about requesting a medboard. Don't remember if you've mentioned it yet, but what geographic area are you...

In my case, I not only had a recommendation of unfit from my ortho, but also from my command. Had proof of missing 3 duty days a week for almost 2 years for OT/pain management.... still found fit. Was determined by the IPEB that I could continue on with occupational therapy and pain management...

What's your rate and how many years do you have in? So far, it sounds like you're going to fail any kind of suitability screening if your limitations are no sea duty/deployments and within 50 miles of a MTF. If you pass the medboard, but fail the suitability screening, it will ultimately be up...

Just a brief update... after speaking with my detailer, it looks like I'll be placed back on limdu again and make my way through the PEB process again.

Today I failed my suitability screening. Should find out the end result from my detailer within the next few days once all the paperwork is in.

Sorry... can't speak for the Air Force IPEBs. I'm AD Navy and mine took almost 5 weeks from the time I submitted all my paperwork to the PEB before the initial IPEB results came back to me on 23 Dec.

After talking with my detailer this morning, I'm beginning to think the chances of passing my suitability screening are pretty slim. If I fail, he said I'd go back through the med/peb process again.....? WTH? Is there someone higher up who's sole purpose in life is find ways to make this...

Jason, I had been planning on an unfit finding. Both writeups from my command and my Ortho Dr were both leaning towards finding me unfit to continue with my duties. I had found a job, and just started getting my life on track for becoming a civilian. I don't plan on filing for a formal board...
