So I FINALLY received an envelope containing my new orders and DD214 from the air Force. I was notified of the decision in January. The letter says that they've notified DFAS of the change and to go to them with any questions about back pay. Good thing that I'm not depending on these benefits...
Congratulations on your retirement. My timeline is looking very similar to yours. I completed the SBP briefing around the end of March and I'm still awaiting my new orders. The air Force definitely seems to be the slowest to process everything.
The only thing I've received is a letter saying that the SBP briefing was completed and to be patient because there is a backlog of people they need to process. It's been six months now, since I received the decision letter. Still no orders.
This was the response that I got from emailing the PDBR. Not very helpful but I guess it's something:
We have received your SBP acknowledgement and are waiting on your Retirement orders and DDF 214. Once we receive them we will email them to you.
