I just wanted to share a tip with those that have received their retirement orders from the Air Force and need to get their ID Card. If your DEERS profile doesn't reflect the change to retired then there's a good chance that the ID office on base, (especially if it isn't an Air Force base) won't help you. Save yourself a lot of pain and email your new orders and DD214 to the Air Force Deers Project Office so they can update DEERS for you BEFORE going to a base. Here's the email address:
