70/100 TDRL Puzzled by IPEB reasoning - Need sanity check.

I suppose to tie up the thread while I'm logged in. VA increased PTSD to 100% 2024 and PEB PDRL'd at 70 PTSD and 30 Colitis in 2025.... Frankly whole attrition tactic worked as I was in no shape to fight them on semantics of VA rating me at 100 at that time especially essentially being subject...

USAF Denied - PTSD from US/RU Deconfliction Hotline (OIR)

Medically retired Air Force, 100% VA for PTSD.... I was one of a handful of interpreters on the 24/7 US-Russia deconfliction hotline (OIR, 2017-2018). I do encourage folks to google it as there's lots of articles roughly explaining what we did. Denied for "no direct exposure to gunfire or...

    Tdrl to pdrl results delayed

It took them exactly 90 "business days" to get back to me with basically unchanged ratings. So maybe they are getting caught up with the workload.

Missing a line on PDRL orders

This is more AF specific. Got my PDRL orders and its missing the line: "DISABILITY WAS INCURRED IN A COMBAT ZONE OR INCURRED DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF DUTY IN COMBAT−RELATED OPERATIONS AS DESIGNATED BY THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE (NDAA08, SEC 1646)" That section is marked Yes on my AF365(DA199...

    Understanding what creates DoD%

If youre less than 20 YOS then only thing you dont get is CRDP. Beyond that its full retirement benefits including TRICARE; in itself its worth its weight in gold despite having 100% VA.

How do I start the Medical Board Process?

Your provider will start it. Before that, they will likely try to treat your issues. Its not really something you have control over.

Is 100% DOD worth the fight?

Thank you for candid responses. Rational thought is kind of hard for me nowadays so i get into bullshit rabbit holes. Ill sign the paperwork and move on with my life. Ill still consult with ODC but you guys helped me with my decision, so thank you.

Is 100% DOD worth the fight?

Got a proposed rating of 80% and PDRL from TDRL IPEB 1.5 years in - pulled it off myfss site so idk how valid it is as I havent gotten official notification. 70% MDD, 30% Chrons - basically no change from day they TDRL'd me. Thing is VA reevaluated me as 100% MDD/PTSD last Fall and arguably my...

    Retirement Orders

If your military pension is higher than VA payment youll be paid VA first then the rest by DOD unless you qualify for CRDP. Typically youll pay income taxes on DOD payment. At least is how I get paid.

    Do Orders DOS include ptdy/terminal

Generally yes, it also depends how quickly you can outprocess so you may have to sell few days of leave.

Getting a job while on TDRL

VA reevaluated my PTSD about 9 months in. Got decision at 12 months post TDRL.... reached out to the TDRL office with VA paperwork and they started DOD reeval... 4 months counting as it was sent to the board for decision. Reality is its a crapshoot. You can always bug DOD if you have updated...

    NARSUM Rebuttal/ IMR

Sounds like it. Id ask for a copy of the package that was sent up to review whether IMR and your rebuttal made it there. You can also reach out to disability counsel who can help you do that.

    Tdrl to pdrl results delayed

Incredible. Rules for thee but not for me I suppose.... Still remember having to scramble to appeal IPEB pencil whipped decision during PEB with few days they give you - not salty at all /s. Did they specify what was cause of year long delays or its just a cop out? Cant blame COVID forever. I...

    Tdrl to pdrl results delayed

Had mine in October 24. Was told it takes 90 "business" days by AFW2.... I guess I should strap in to sit on both of my thumbs while longer for them to pencil whip the paperwork..... There gotta be timehacks they have to abide by...
