Currently in the IDES process. My case was submitted 27JAN26 and my VA app already says my decision letter has been mailed however I then received another letter saying that something claimed was sent for further medical evaluation without my presence requested. My PEBLO says she can already see some sort of percentage for my VA in her system but said nothing has been received as far as findings go. I’m just basically trying to figure out what kind of timeline am I looking at from where I stand now in the process to my medical retirement date? I plan to take 56 days of terminal. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Once your case is at that stage, most of the work is happening behind the scenes between VA ratings and the PEB findings, so it can feel like nothing is moving even though it is. Seeing a proposed percentage in the system usually means the VA side has done a rating pass and now it has to be finalized and returned to the service for the formal findings and disposition. From there you still have the approval chain, counseling, and election period before orders get cut. Many people see several more weeks to a few months depending on workload and whether anything gets kicked back for clarification. Your PEBLO is usually the best indicator because they can see when it actually transitions to findings and when you are getting close to out processing and terminal leave.

I’ve had my proposed ratings since Sept 15th. My peblo has not contacted me since… sucks
