It is hard to say which will be a more advantageous retirement. The answer will depend on your base pay and your ultimate VA compensation. I would compare different scenarios on military disability retirement and VA compensation (taking into account concurrent receipt/CRDP rules).
The good news is that you have a guaranteed retirement benefit. I hope whatever happens, you get the best outcome possible. Best of luck!

You will be eligible to receive both DoD and VA under the Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay (CRDP) law. The amount of compensation will depend on numerous factors (i.e., you may not get 100%, at a minimum, it will be limited to your length of service pay calculation).
