Have they done your NARSUM yet? You could potentially have it added through an addendum or IMR - you could also check with the VA MSC about sending the updated notes to whoever did the C&P to see if they will amend the report to add it. Best of luck...Bob

    Superbowl Prediction?

How can they call it a Superbowl when the BEARS aren't playing? Darling daughter #1's first word was Ditka. But in this game, I'll take Manning and the Broncos

    Which to do first...

If you want to have your retirement/separation changed, then you need to go to the PDBR. There are numerous legal issues involved to which I cannot speak intelligently, but others here can. There are also time limits on some actions, but i don't know how they apply to your case. The primary...

Trends for VA Reconsideration Timeline - Seattle

I guess I was an anomaly. I did not request a formal board, only a VA Recon - it was obvious they missed a diagnosis and the attorney connected all the dots and numbered the squares so all they had to do was color inside the lines - it took 4 days, when I was told to plan on 4 months. My one...

    Getting orders cut after DA199

I just got my orders 3 weeks after signing the 199, but I had signed it over block leave. I got my orders Tuesday and they did my leave form, with 10 days to clear, 20 days PTDY and a final out of 43 April. I leave post 5 February. It should go very quickly for you after signing. Bob

and now I start the Med Board process

+1 on the headache log - quite important. Also on the BH. In addition, there are some behavioral treatment for migraines - no cure-all, but some techniques to help with the pain. Having a discussion with work about documenting any accommodations or problems you have had with attendance or...

    meb vs ets

In general, a MEB is more beneficial, and can be substantially beneficial, depending on the circumstances. How many years do you have? Count on another 6-12 months for a MEB to be completed. A little more information about your profile/conditions might help too. Best of luck...Bob

    Sometimes it All Works Out

Hi all: Thank you so much for all the support over the past year. I just wanted to post a note of encouragement that sometimes it all works out. Initial ratings were 60%/90% but they didn't rate the most severe condition. Filed recon through MEB attorney December 9, and it was completed 4...

    VARR time frame

I think the others offer the same advice I will echo - its better to use your options now rather than hope for a better outcome later. A good attorney can basically do all the work for you now. My attorney did a great job of connecting all the dots for the VA - in my mind they either have to...

Independent Medical Exam(IME) and Independent Medical Opinion

What does the MEB/PEB consider when determining if PTSD is unfitting under AR635-40?

PTSD is not automatically unfitting. In fact, there are many in the military who continue to serve and even deploy, with the diagnosis of PTSD. The determination of severity is somewhat objective, and focuses mainly on how you get along with others and whether or not you can do key elements of...

    VARR time frame

Thanks Warrior: I've been in this process longer than a minute, so I know better than to have any expectations, much less realistic ones :). What irks me is they missed one of the unfit diagnoses - just didn't address it at all. The PEB had sent over both diagnoses on the same line - but...
