    Need a little clarification please

I am guessing, but your 1st SGT may have misunderstood the PEBLO. It sounds like the PEB found you unfit and they then sent your packet to the VA for ratings. The PEB does not rate (unless you are a legacy case) and waits for the VA to return ratings on all conditions. The VA can take 4-6...

    Unfitting Disabilities vs Claimed Disabilities

My understanding is, that unless things have gotten tremendously worse for you physically, DOD will only focus on the unfitting condition - PTSD. If your other conditions were contributing to the PTSD, that might make them fair game. I do not know your chances of being taken off TDRL - that...

    oxygen use rating for asthma

Thanks for the posts. Its been a bit discouraging - but I am trying to be patient and wait for the actual decision - whenever things get moving again. My actual unfit diagnoses were recognized by the PEB: 1) Uncontrolled asthma (this rating to me would be clear - daily inhalers/advair and...

    oxygen use rating for asthma

I'm preparing for a possible big fight. I have an asthma diagnosis, and an unknown diagnosis, possible pulmonitis or chronic bronchitis. The PEB found me unfit for 2 conditions: Asthma and Shortness of breath requiring oxygen I use the O2 daily for any exertion. I desaturate very quickly when I...

    Question

Ok, lot's of information. Sorry to hear about all the troubles. I'll offer what I can, others know more. If determined to be service connected, may qualify you for clothing allowance. TBI is partly based on residual cognitive functioning - have you had any neuropsychological testing? It...

    Question

OK, I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you used a poor choice of words. I appreciate Jason's work and this board, but the intention is not to help anyone "game" anything. Legitimate disabilities occurred in service deserve compensation as provided by law and tradition...

Here We go Again!- Government Shutdown

I just went over and laid eyes on my PEBLO. He stated that here (Fort Leonard Wood) they have been told to keep working for now. I asked about Seattle PEB, and he stated that they were on a skeleton staff but still processing what they could. Bob

    Skip the VA Ratings?

Thearmyguy: You may be able to ask for an administrative separation. I can appreciate you wanting/needing to be home. Only you can make the best decision for you. However, there are some things to think about. 1. Don't be so sure you will only receive severance. Look at the ROM for your back...

Here We go Again!- Government Shutdown

I see Jason has sent out requests for information. Do we know yet how this will affect Army PEB functioning? And I assume PEBLOS will probably be non-essential. Thanks...Bob

Requesting copies of my BH notes

The provider may have to sign off on you getting the records - this has been standard practice in the past - I heard it may be changing. In 99% of cases its not an issue.

    Asthma?

The diagnosis is what the diagnosis is. If they determined it was pneumonia, and not asthma, I would think that you're OK. If there is no recommended follow-up for asthma, no scheduled methocholine challenge test, and no pft's, they would have a hard time saying you have asthma. Glad it looks...

Here We go Again!- Government Shutdown

I appreciate the posts. This is my fault - my claim was about to change status, and the Gods that be have had to punish all of you in order to stop mine :)

    Asthma?

HyperionZ Hope things are going better. I am Army, not AF, but my understanding was asthma was an automatic trigger for a MEB. That being said, I know soldiers with asthma on inhalers who have been found fit and continued service. Good Luck...Bob

Packet Sent To VA now What?

Yes, and every day gets longer. However, ebenefits just changed to pending decision approval this week, so I am hopeful. However, as my luck goes, just as my claim may be moving, let's shut down the government. I hope yours goes faster.

OK. Nice Caddyshack reference by the way. I would hope that MAPARKER or Jason would might pick this up - you might try pm'ing them to get their opinion - sorry I couldn't be more help. I was "lucky", I'm also reserve, but was medevaced out of the 'stan and kept on orders at a WTU. I could...
