Retroactive Medical Retirement For Severe Crohn's Disease Diagnosis? Was Separated With 0% From Both DOD & VA.

The appeal you need will take quite some time. Many on here can testify it takes years, not months. In my opinion, you need to find a way to receive VA care as soon as possible. This would eliminate your prescription costs.

    Moving up discharge date. USMC

Usually there is a "no later than" date and you can work it out with your admin to make it sooner according to where you are at for check-out/clearing.

Retirement letter put in and approved before MEB package recieved.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tell your PEBLO this. What would cause you to put in a retirement letter?

    Update Questions

"It depends". Great answer, right? It may take a few weeks to get through your C&P exams based on how many claimed conditions you have and the availability of appointments. From then it takes a few weeks to a few months of processing on the VA and DoD side of things before you will ever see...

18 Years 10 Months with Shoulder Issues

At over 18 years, you can apply for limited duty and make it to 20. You should definitely not stress too much about losing your pension. 18 is the magic number.

    FPEB Granted nervous

My only guess is that based on your reviews, you are performing well despite your limitations. It seems as if you are accomplishing what they are asking of you and will be able to do so until you EAS.

    FPEB Granted nervous

Marines must be deployable. Bipolar disorder is a non-deployable condition due to the medication.

    formal board tomorrow morning

Concernedwife is talking about a Navy board, thus my response.

    formal board tomorrow morning

Regardless of what you were told, the board rarely returns a "same day" decision when they convene. The decision writing alone takes time.

    MEB, Leave, and Moving On

Unfortunately there is no expedited MEB. Everyone deals with the issue of being unsure about what's next. There is no way to anticipate dates. It's all an educated guess at best. Further, they usually discourage leave during your stage of the process because of the upcoming C&P exam process...

Got my date to DC now...

Remember to have your official retirement date placed toward the end of the month so you get paid VA benefits sooner.

    Social security disability

Good luck with your case. This is a military disability forum so the advice and opinions given thus far was under the assumption you were current or former military.

Oh, so you were never in the military?

    Social security disability

Another thought on the math deficiency is that you have to make a minimum score on the ASVAB math portion so that could be used to show your function is adequate.

    Social security disability

SSDI is difficult to get approved for anyone. A lawyer is almost a requirement in many cases. I'm not sure how a medical doctor documenting a math impairment will help but I guess it won't hurt. Further, SSDI income is very limited. Many can make more money with their VA disability plus...

    Social security disability

Your post is rather vague. Are you asking about the military MEB process or just SSDI?

    On to FPEB... Unfortunately.

Across the board seems to run 4-8 weeks for an appearance at the board after filing the appeal. My opinion is that board positively adjusting ratings without an appearance is not common. Expect a visit to the board unless there is a physical disability keeping you from traveling.

Va added additional claim to my current claim

You will still need to wait on a decision from the VA concerning the additional claim. It is not automatic. It would not effect your DoD rating/disability.

    I feel like a dirtbag...

i assume you mean like a possible admin sep for not making weight. Missing weight will not effect your current MEB. The only possible negative outcome is to be found "fit" then afterwards be processed out for continued weight or failed PFT.
