If you were to have another condition added as unfitting, the board would have to request a proposed VA rating for it after the FPEB (assuming it goes in your favor). This, for example, would effectively extend your timeline.

Yeah I understand that. But you're going to have to provide grounds for the appeal. You can appeal to be found fit, appeal for more conditions to be added, appeal for combat relatedness (CRSC) to be included, etc. The reasoning won't affect the timeline most likely, but just something to think...

You would get the findings from the board, then the board would tell personnel the results. Personnel usually takes a bit to process things and get your retirement/separation date. Then they take a bit longer to get you physical orders. EAS will depend on a few things, such as your terminal...

I would plan on 2-3 months for the formal board. EAS depends on what service you’re in. Navy is supposedly 45-60 days after signing findings to get message traffic from PERS. I know the other branches are more like a matter of weeks.

Until the rating is done, no one will tell you anything regarding its progress unfortunately. No one knows

Actually only talked to them twice and I had to initiate contact. I happened to see that my claim closed on the VA website on the same day they finished my ratings. So I reached out immediately and got it confirmed

My MSC was the first one to know when my ratings were done. The other two had no clue till the findings came in a week later

That’s great advice sir. This process is a marathon and there are a lot of things out of your control. It’s easy to go crazy worrying about those things all the time if you allow yourself to. It’s best to make some positive use out of the waiting periods.

Wow you’re moving fast. VA seems to be taking around 3 months to complete ratings at the moment. Then the ratings get sent to the PEB and they send your PEBLO your initial findings a few weeks later. I would plan on hearing back end of April maybe.

Gotcha. Just do your best to ride it out. If you do end up being referred to the medical board process in the future, you will likely be fine in hitting your 20. Like I said, there are ways to make it move slower and it already moves slow all on its own. If you somehow go through the board and...
