PTSD IDES Timeline at NMC Portsmouth

Hi everyone, I haven't given an update in quite awhile. I wish I would have made the updates as they happened but here they are now. 12MAY20 - Received retirement orders, there were some service members that tested positive for COVID in Millington and I think that delayed my orders a bit...

    TDRL and Delayed Orders

Hi there! I think my wait time has been pretty long too. My retirement message came out on 02 April and I still have not received orders yet. I think the wait has more to do with my command than with Millington though.

    Navy Timeline

I signed 13 March and got a retirement message on 02 April, a retirement message is not orders but it will have your medical retirement date, which you can plan terminal leave/other details with.

Another Update: I'm stationed at a PSD and we received the retirement message on April 2nd, 2020. That's 20 days after I accepted my findings (accepted findings 3/13). I was anticipating a delay with all the COVID-19 stuff going on but there wasn't one, which I'm grateful for! Retirement message...

    Coronavirus and the PEB

Knowing they are in must be a relief, but kinda unlucky that they came in on a Friday and you have the weekend to contemplate what they may be. I hope they are what you expect them to be!

PTSD IDES Timeline at NMC Portsmouth

I don't mind! I'm rated 70% DOD/100% VA. I got the ratings on February 27th and there is a 14 day window for you to accept or reject your findings, and today was the last day of the 14 days. My PEB lawyer advised me to wait until the last day so that I would fit another paycheck in before...

Do retirement orders typically have an EAOS of 90 days after accepting findings?

I'll be accepting my findings (DOD 70/VA 100) this Friday and I'm just wondering what you guys have seen/read/experienced with the # of days from accepting findings to official retirement date. I just want to get a general idea of what to expect and put a rough timeline in my head together. I...

UPDATE: I am going to accept my ratings on 13MAR and PEBLO says I will receive orders to retire for (most likely) 90 days from that date, so we are looking at June 10th for a retirement date. I'll have 20 days PTDY and 26 days of terminal, and that puts me at April 24 for my last day of actually...

DOD and VA Ratings for PTSD

Fairly detailed, it reflected almost everything I remember saying and when I read it. It didn't feel like the doctor had downplayed or exaggerated my condition. I can look when I get home but I think it was 10-15 pages long. I think my medical records played an important role as well because...

    My Navy Timeline

Hey so I have a friend who's request for a formal board was approved. She submitted the request on 12NOV and was notified that it was approved on 30DEC, just shy of 7 weeks. She met with her PEBLO in the end of January to arrange travel to DC. Hang in there!

    My PEB Timeline w/NMC Portsmouth

I agree that they are all important. The NMA only speaks to your ability to continue to perform in the military, and less so about your actual health problems so I think it probably helps the board get a more complete picture. My command's NMA was very honest/harsh and I was found unfit, I don't...
