SSDI transition to work then apply for Social Security Retirement

Yes. You can apply but I have heard that the ticket to work program is a bit of a nightmare. Also, might want to consider what your income would be as it might lower your average wages and that could bring down your SSA payment when you retire later on in a few years.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!!

Have you been consulting legal? If they are not helping have you considered hiring a private attorney to assist? I have never heard of someone going through IDES not being allowed to submit a written rebuttal to the NARSUM.

Can I submit a VARR that I wrote on my own?

I would have your assigned JAG review it first. I know they aren't very helpful but they should be able to review it before submission at the very least. If you requested review by legal and it wasn't granted you would have a good case for BCMR action later on.

Narsum Returned to Peblo. 3 days to sign. Unfit questions

That's not how VA math works. Enter the amounts in this link that DO NOT INCLUDE your unfitting condition that you are being paid severance for. You are no way close to 160% LOL. 2024 VA Disability Calculator If you reach 100% without needing the ratings for any unfit conditions there will...

    Full MEB

See the diagnosis they are referring you to IDES with and then look up the VA ratings for that diagnosis. Then compare your symptoms to the VA ratings and symptoms needed for that ratings. For example, if you had migraines the VA rates them at 0%, 10%, 30% & 50%. Here are they symptoms that...

MEB meeting with case manager, can only med board for one thing ?

Yeah stating the regs won't get you anywhere. You can not meet medical conditions to be in and be found fit for a condition. The PEB is the one that decides. Remember the PEB is a personnel board. They care about if your condition prevents you from doing your MOS and each MOS is different...

You can read up on CRSC. I just mention the presumptive conditions because they are easy to qualify for since a lot of those conditions are from exposure related. You can check out the basics on this DFAS link: https://www.dfas.mil/retiredmilitary/disability/crsc/ If you google CRSC you will...

Misconduct discharge upgrade to med retirement

If you deserve a medical retirement then I would think its worth the trouble. Tricare alone is worth it. I would talk to a non profit attorney that helps Soldiers with ABCMR claims to see if you have a good case. It will take years for an answer but if you should have been medically retired...

IDES or LDES for NG SM with 100% rating

Okay, based on that information I would probably hire a private attorney and try to get best rating possible to medically retire. Have them guide you through which one to choose. I would go IDES because there are more protections and more upside compared to the old LDES system. Soldiers choose...

Chances are only VA compensation. By law to accept VA disability you must agree to waive any dollar for dollar amount from a medical pension. Since your VA% is 100% I am assuming that amount is higher than your 40% DOD amount. So lets say 40% DOD = 2,500. Lets say your VA is $4,000. It...

Kansas HB-2036 -- Creating a property tax exemption for retired and disabled veterans

Yep! Living in Boerne! Texas is so much better than KS in every way. My wife misses her family and that is the only reason she wants to move there but even she can't do it when financially we would be taking a big hit due to losing all the tax benefits that Texas has to offer.
