"1 year to get better" for BH/Army National Guard.

So I got diagnosed with depression and anxiety a few months back from my civilian psychiatrist. I reported my issues to Behavorial Health during SRP. They gave me resources and told me to give em a call if I ever feel down. Sure.

A few months later, I attempted suicide. I got guilty and became ashamed of myself for attempting such act. I told my NCO and I needed help. I got an appointment with BH again, got a P3 profile for 90 days.

The 90 days has expired and last month was my follow-up. My prescription has been raised and therapy didn't work out for me. My case manager took notes of it. I asked my case manager what would happen if medication won't work. He said, "well, according to the Army, you have 1 year to get better".

Would it be wrong to assume that once the year has elapsed, would the medboard process kick in?

I'm honestly exhausted working 2 jobs, 7 days a week and have to go to drill. I've been flagged for H/W because I stress eat a lot due to anxiety and whenever I go to drill, I be having anxiety attacks and the need to escape, but that's physically impossible and I'll get called a shitbag for it.

I just want to to the right things the right way without being judged.

I'm tired of taking pills, I'm tired of waking up ruminating, I'm tired of this damn anxiety, and I'm tired of having to explain my whole life story to everyone who keeps telling me it'll get better because they never understand.

I commend you for reaching out for help, and I’m sorry that they haven’t helped you more. Please continue with therapy, even if you have to find a new therapist/psychiatrist. Things can get better for you. Nothing like another “deadline” to meet To add to the stress. :( BH/anxiety is not an easy thins to deal with, and especially tell others about. Be prepared to be looked down upon, because the stigma is there. I would definitely rather be able to try to help you, than read your obituary!! In the end, YOU are your best advocate. Please don’t give in! PLEASE!!
