First question would be why exactly do you want to delay it?I’m about to start the MEB process. What are my options to delay the process? I know that a COAD is no guarantee so I can’t depend on that. Any information would be gladly appreciated.
Probably so he or she can hit 20 years. Better off that way in terms of benefits I believeFirst question would be why exactly do you want to delay it?
To get to 20 years for CRDP.First question would be why exactly do you want to delay it?
Depending on how much it needs to be delayed and how far into it they are, I would speak with the PCM and ask them to delay since they're the ones that will refer them. Also, you can do a rebuttal to the MEB and an appeal to the PEB which will add on time.Probably so he or she can hit 20 years. Better off that way in terms of benefits I believe
How far are you out from that?To get to 20 years for CRDP.

22 months Dec 2023 was expected retirement date. With leave maybe Sept 2023.How far are you out from that?
I can. But not sure if a lot of claims would help claim fit for duty.Damn, That's a long time. A small window of time delayed could be when you schedule your CP exams. I am not sure how far you could push it out. Not long I'm sure but, I would try for the maximum. Some exams may be delayed just because of what your conditions are and what kind of doctors you need to see.
Do you have a lot of claims going into this?
I guess I’m just screwed and won’t meet my goal of 20 yrs.I can have a lot of claims. However I’m trying to go the fit for duty route.

So trying for the fit for duty route is dangerous. I would consult with an attorney to review the conditions. Some conditions are a guarantee to be found unfit and by trying to minimize them you could get a lower rating resulting in severance instead of a medical retirement. So do some research to see which direction you are likely to go regarding being found fit or unfit and then craft your evidence, exam responses based on the likely outcomeI guess I’m just screwed and won’t meet my goal of 20 yrs.
