ABCMR granted full relief- what’s the next hurdle

I received my board decision from August 27th granting full relief, and now I’m wondering what will be the next hurdle. The lawyers are building a CRSC packet, but I’m wondering if there is anything that I’m missing in this process.

The ABCMR makes a recommendation to the Secretary of the Army’s decision authority. This takes 6-12 months.

May I ask when did u file and what for? Just trying to get a idea of the timeline. I filed July 2023, request to change honorable to medical retirement or placed into DES. no advisory opinion or any updates received yet.

My timeline is pretty skewed:

APR 2009-MEB
May 2009-PEB
JUL 2009- Medical Severance
JUN 2011- 1ST ABCMR denial- no AO
NOV 2020- 2nd ABCMR request with lawyer
JUL 2021- AO in favor of retirement
SEP 2021- 2nd ABCMR denial
SEP 2023- submitted APA complaint
FEB 2024- case remanded back to the ABCMR
AUG2024- granted relief for retirement
SEP 2024- received my orders and DD215 through IPERMS and the RSO.
I’ll be with the RSO next week for the DFAS part and I have a lawyer working on my CRSC now.

It might not be totally precise but you get the picture

I am in the same boat as you but a year later. Can you share how you received your orders and DD215 through iperms? Did they make you an account.

Hope all are doing great. A little background:

Traditional AF Reservist, medically retired PEB rating 70%. Also an Air Force civil service employee, not an ART.
Filed with the AFBCMR after retirement for MEDCON orders during lengthy MEB/PEB process.
During most of MEP/PEB, I used civilian Sick Leave (SL), Annual Leave (AL), Military Leave (ML) and LWOP from my civil service job.
BCMR ruled in my favor and granted one year and 3 months and change of MEDCON orders.
Case forwarded to DFAS.
Received money from DFAS, but all my civilian earnings were deducted from my awarded entitlements.

In the past, anytime I performed military duty I used AL, ML OR LWOP, but no pay was ever garnished because I was on military orders. So confused.

Appreciate any inputs. Thanks
