Adjustment Disorder news

First, thanks again for the kind words. I like what I do, and figure I should do something extra for those who may not be getting the best advice. VARR's have been running around a month and a half or so. Your PEBLO not knowing you had adjustment disorder is ridiculous. Thee is no excuse. That being said, up to this point it has only been a hold up since they (OTSG< PEB & MEDCOM) didn't know what they were going to do with it. Now that they know, it is the PEB that will decide whether or not to return your case to the MTF that did your MEB for further action. If you talk to your PEBLO, tell him to look at the Transaction history under your case file at the ePEB. That will give you an idea if it will be returned. If it is not showing yet, it may not be returned or they just haven't gotten to it yet.
Even for cases that are returned for adjustment disorder, you will not have to start all over again. Once it is sorted out, you will pick up where you left off.

In my case, does the VA also considers the conditions I brought up during the EXIT INTERVIEW with the VA REP before they give me the final ratings?

Why you wait till your exit interview to bring up conditions? Should've been brought up at you first MSC appointment. If you already have propsed ratings you will have to add new conditions on your own which will delay your final ratings

My PEBLO did not tell me that it would delay the process when i asked him....
I was immediately scheduled for Exit interview after the VARR was sent up....
I thought thats my best chance to update my AD to PTSD...thereby not to worry about the paperwrk submission later on...

Most likely won't change. Sorry, I don't have a lot of time right now. Will post more detailed response later. Gotta go!

The VA will not consider anything you bring up unless you file a claim for it. Just talking to your MSC and telling him/her that you have something else going on will not start the ball rolling. If you think your additional condition may be bad enough to fail retention standards, you should probably be speaking to the legal folks at the MEB for guidance. I will tell you that if you try to make the additional claim, you will have a tough time since you've already run everything to the end including a VARR.
Combat Eng is correct that you could cause your case to go into a longer process with the VA. They are already super back logged in getting VA Benefits letters out, so doing something else at this point could slow it down. My suggestion is that if you think the new condition, and it needs to be new, will fail retention standards, and thus potentially impact the nature of your separation; then go for it. If it is not, then wait until you separate and file a new claim through either the VFW or American Legion or DAV.

All i can say is.. " i wish u were my peblo"... Got screwed with wrong guidance !!!

I was already getting medically retired..But my PEBLO asked me to bring up and claim other conditions during the Exit interview.... He knows that I am trying to get out as soon as I can.... He said that it would not impact the process at all and will receive the orders in SIX weeks

So following the advice from PEBLO11, I contacted my PEBLO to see if she can get a status on my case via the Transaction History on ePEB. Her reply was the PEB received my VA Rating information from 5/17/13 and she is waiting on the PEB to complete my DA Form 199. Same answer from when I asked her on 1 June 2013. Then I just received a call from a person in our MEDCOM who helped put the whole packet together for submission a year ago, he tells me he just got off the phone with his contact at the PEB and was told they are sending my DA Form 199 out to me this week, guess my PEBLO still isn't aware of this. So my question is does anyone know approx how long it will take to finalize the process after I get my DA Form 199 signed and sent back to the PEB?

My PEBLO is still saying nothing has change and there is no update... Is there something I can do to further my case??

If you mean to the end of the process, you are just about there. Once you sign your DA199, you move into transition and will start outprocessing. You will be separated within 90 days. Your terminal leave will consist of however much permissive TDY your are authorized and actual leave. The big wait will be after you are separated. That's when you end up waiting for your VA benefits letter, and that can take several months.

i just got this from my peblo
SPC Lewis
Yes, it is still on hold. An addendum has to be done and you have to come
in to review the addendum - will call you as soon as it is complete.

my peblo said the same thing...that the behavior center will need to send out a addendum/memo that will they will need to complete the process (presiding officer signature) da 199

My PEBLO said that the some Dr. in the MTF got to fill some document using my NARSUM and then he will send it back to the PEB and I guess just wait for the 199 then, now my question is how long this process will take

And since the incident has anyone received their DA 199 I was told today it could take up to 3 months WTH!!!! Why would it take 3 months to type a paper I have ratings all I need is the DA 199 so I can hit the transition phase and get the hell out

Here's some good news, well at least at my MTF. We are getting those OTSG approved memos cranked out on all of our cases with adjustment disorder. I've already had a few come down, I called the soldiers in to decide whether they wanted to concur or request an IMR/appeal. The criteria, whether I agree with it or not, is very clear. If the criteria isn't met for failing retention standards, you can still ask for the IMR and you can appeal but you are really only delaying the inevitable. The solders I have presented the new memo to concurred and their cases have already been uploaded to the PEB. We received clearance to start doing the same thing with the cases the PEB returned to us as well. I did send two up and the PEB accepted them so now I wait to see how long it takes to finish their cases. One was just waiting for separation orders. So we'll see. I will keep ya'll posted.

I will try to get a definitive answer on the DA199 question. If the ratings are already in at the PEB, or at least show having been sent there, I can't imagine it would take that long. I
