Can you claim adjustment disorder with depressed mood on top of ptsd? Thanks..
 
Mental health claims are rated based on their impairment of your occupational (educational) and social impairment. Yes you can claim it; however, it may not increase your rating because of the prohibition against pyramiding in VA ratings.
 
It make sense. I was just curious. Doctors add these extra conditions but it's all related to ptsd.
 
In my case, the insomnia I had claimed was just shifted under the umbrella of symptoms of MDD. Your results may vary.

Sleep disorders are consider mental health disorder as you have discovered.
