Hello
@Smwier
It is my understanding that IDT points may only be added to final active service total once the retiree has attained 20 years of active service.
However, the Army National Guard site states
“1405 Time – IDT points earned while a member of the Reserve Component that is used to increase the multiplier of a Regular retirement.
•May only be used AFTER acquiring 20 years of AS
•It will not be used to create 20 years of AS,
except for medical retirements. “

Edited to add: CRDP for reserve retirement requires 20 year letter and attainment of the age requirement and approval of your application for reserve Retirement as you near age 60 (can be reduced). That approval triggers CRDP by DFAS if otherwise eligible.
