Air Force Asthma MEB

Hello! I’m currently going through a MEB. I’m Air Force. I just recently got a nebulizer to help with my asthma attacks. I wouldn’t call my asthma “controlled” yet. Does anyone know if the AF will decide not to retain me? Or what are the chances? I’m currently on breo ellipta daily, singulair daily, use my albuterol inhaler before exercise, now use my nebulizer at least once daily. I appreciate any insight

What others stated is correct. My job was aircrew and was DQ'd from flight and they moved forward with separation. But it depends on your job, doctor statements and recommendations, medication requirements, and PFT results.

The decision to retain will 100% depend on your job. Seems like a lot of people get retained with asthma though.
Thank you. I’m hoping to be separated. mainly so I don’t have to worry about a pt test.

Thank you. I’m an admin so just sit at a desk all day.

thank you. I’m an admin and my last pft was normal. I’m hoping I’m found unfit honestly.

Did you receive any insight as to why you were found fit considering your recent “normal” PFT results? Was it the CIS?

I start having asthma symptoms while walking or exercise. Sitting I’m fine. I’m assuming it’s because I’m not controlled yet. I’m not sure what CIS is?

Thanks for your reply. CIS=Commander’s Impact Statement which basically their recommendation to retain or non-retain you. I realize my question was probably confusing: meant to type “unfit”. FWIW, there seems to be a wide array of findings when it comes to asthma so I was just curious what was unique about your situation.

Oh gotcha. My CC put retain because I wanted to stay in but now I don’t lol so it’s good news for me. I think the decision was based on that I’m not well controlled.
