Been going through the traditional MEB for awhile and just now entered the new IDES after having another back surgery. Being MEB'ed for Degenerative Disk Disease and severe sleep apnea. Had three back surgeries and one with L4-S1 fusion. Also have migrains, arthritis, carpel tunnel, triggerfinger, flatfoot, nerve problems in legs/feet, planter fascitis, nose/allergy issues, HBP, high cholesterol, chest pain, and upper back problems. Thought I would add my timeline and update it as necessary for others info.

28 Feb - Signed for MEB
13-15 Apr - had VA physicals
20 May - Notified that contracted VA doctor still had to QC my package and VA would probably take another 30 days to get my preliminary rating.

We'll see where it goes from here, if ya have any timelines you went through let me know.

Been awhile and I think I'm almost done. Got my VA rating back on 8 Sept. That was after having to go back to the VA for 10 items they missed on my initial medical evaluation and also needing clarification on one item they didnt evaluate fully on my second time to the VA. Total time so far, about 6 1/2 months. Now just waiting for the AF decision to come back.

Got my notification today, permanent retirement with 10% rating for my back. Supprised the VA only rated my back at 10% but I can still move just have allot of pain and it hurts all the time and they dont really care about that. My overall VA rating however was 80%, thats something to smile about and will be doing a reconsideration on several items to try to get that raised some more. So now my 22 yrs come to an end. Glad its over.

forward flexion of thoracolumbar greater than 60 but less than 85, or combined greater than 120 but les than 235. Consideration given to lumbar scoliosis, facet degeneration, disc space narrowing, and scar status post surgical stabilization and disectomy.

If you don't mind me askinng. What was your ROM on your back?
