Alittle advice please

Hi, I am an E6 with 14 yrs in the Navy. 6 years ago I started to have lower back issues that started with making it hard to sleep. I kept going to medical and kept getting told nothing was wrong. finally back in December 2010 it gave out completely making it so I couldn't stand up straight or even walk without a limp. Medical finally referred me to a Neuro Surgeon and he told me that I had Spondylolisthess, herniated disks and a possible ruptured disk in my lower back. He recommended surgery but wanted me to try physical therapy first. Late February 2011 I lost control of my bladder and was sent in to the same Neuro Surgeon who stated that I then had Cauda equina syndrome and had to have Surgery. They told me that I would be up and going within a few months after the surgery. Six months after the surgery I am still limping around, using a cane due to the fact my right leg is numb half the time and gives out on me, I still have moderate pain in my lower back at all times and can't lift anything over 10 lbs without a few hours on my back in pain.
October 2011 I started the PEB status, meant with VA and Navy Doctors in Balboa Medical Center.
Today I found out my PEB results, they gave me 10% with Severance Pay and VA offered me 30% Disability. I still struggle to get out of bed after only a few hours of off and on sleep, rely on a cane so when my leg gives out I don't fall on my face, I use medication so I can urinate regular and still partially numb in the right leg and genital area. I put in 14 yrs, Sailor of the Year, Recruiter of the Year x2, and multiple other awards, I worked and broke my back for the Navy and didn't want to get out but the results just feel like a slap in the face and a boot to the door. Can I appeal the results? can I get representation? I don't think I am asking for the world but I believe I deserve better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, you can appeal to a formal board where you can be represented by a Navy/Marine JAG officer. Recomend you do so.

Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) case (where the VA provides the rating)?

talk to the Balboa Medical lawyers. They can help. Both are former jag. PM if you need a number. They should have gave you the number when you started your case. Jason would have more insite on the legal but appeal or not sure if you can but you can try for PLD.

I am going to be driving down to San Diego on 15MAR12 to get all the information, I haven't seen the ratings yet just been told over the phone. I appreciate all the advice and will post all findings if it helps anyone out.
