I am a active duty Air Force, over 18.5 years, I have been lost in the MEB shuffle for over 3 years, now, I was removed from MEB status and given a C Status change to C2 (limited deployement). Now the Air Force (my CC) wants me to cross train into something, he don't care what or I am gonna get the boot.

Here is my issues and asking for help, I am over 18, AFPC is telling me that I have limited options on retraining, but add that fact that I am ok with retraining but as AFPC said, at the first day of my month of retirement to put in for retirement and it trumps everything. Well I am not sure how that works, but I don't care about retraining, but its the whole PCS thing from my kids I have a issue with. I share custody with them and FL is a father hating state and I know my ex will bust contact with me and the kids (total seperate issue). Is there a way for me to hang out till 20? I am in Air Force terms a 9A (no AFSC or Job) because AF sat on this so long I didn't fly for over 365 and was 9A because of it.

Any help, any suggestions would be a great help!!

Your CC can not admin sep you unless you screw up. Since you are over 18 years, it has to be ran past the Sec of the AF and he could give you the boot. Since you were found fit for duty, they can't (might try) discharge you for that health reason or inability to do a job that you've been given a permanent profile without going to a new MEB.

By retiring and staying in FL, you will most likely p*ss off the CC and your life will be made miserable until you retire. Don't you love the way we are tossed to the side like trash. You need to do what is best for your children and yourself and if they sh*t on you, sh*t on them. Keep e-mails, develop a trail of proof, and even though I'm told it won"t hold up in court, get a voice recorder and record the conversations without them knowing. Their boss may listen and lean on them for making your life miserable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it has been working for me so far.

I am worried cause I am so close and so far, without a defined Job in the Air Force, I am not sure how this plays out and no limited on what I can do is another part that is gonna make things rough. Thanks for the insight

I've known NCO's and SNCO's who were given a position to fill without cross training for more stupid reasons. I was a Flt Chief but have been removed from my position because of to many appointments and health issues. I am now doing the desk job only of a SrA, sucks but I understand.

i have been in a crappy job for over 3 years, bouncing back and forth from doctor to doctor, my issue isn't a "job" the Group CC said straight out he won't let me stay. If they left me in this stupid job I would be happy but right now I am worried about what job I will be "given" be AFPC. I got to call them tomorrow and see. Its stressful, but after 18 years of serving my country, this is how they treat me. I am considering reserves because I can stay here, but not sure how that works since I am over 18 and now this crappy retirement plan they are coming up with is even worse, but in the good side, it lets me retire NOW and not have to sweat alot.

I was in the same situation and forced into a cross train because of medical issues. The absolute worst 2 yrs in the military were my last 2. But you need to stick it out and get the benefits you DESERVE!!! I had a CC and Chief hot for me to seperate and I finally called BS on them both and filed an IG complaint on them both for misuse of power. I fought 2 MED boards one of which was initiated by said CC and Chief and won a "fit for duty" rating. Get to 19 yrs and drop your retirement papers then you are golden. I fought "your" fight and won. It can be done. GLTY

Visit your unaccompanied housing office and see if they are hiring for dorm managers! It's a 2 year, local, special duty assignment. As a 9A, your career field manager has already released you from your career field, so that's one less hurdle to jump over for the job. You will, however, need your CC recommendation/approval.
